Another good way to do it is to remove the sensor right on top of the tranny and fill it from there. Much easier.

Is your car auto or manual??

If its manual, I know you don't need 3 quarts. You need approximately 1.6-1.8 quarts. I know, for a fact, because I change my tranny fluid every year. There are two bolts in the tranny you need to take off. You use the bottom one to drain the fluid, and the top to refill the fluid. You'll need a pump, so you can put fluid back into your tranny. That's the first thing you should buy, don't forgot about it.

If you have an auto, forget everything I said.

Buying a pump is a waste of money. There are several places you can fill it at the top if you just look, and let gravity do it's job.

Yup. I ended up buying 6 quarts from the dealer because I wanted a stash and also a buddy of mine wanted to change the fluid on his CB7 accord.

As for what fluid to use... I am very happy with the honda MTF. it costs a few bucks more but it still shifts as smooth as when I bought it, which felt as good as new.

Like Andy said, pull the reverse sensor and fill it through that. Much easier.

10W30 works too. Been using that in Honda MTFs since 1998 and never had a problem.

Yup, I use Amsoil Syncromesh in my car. Works like a champ. I've been running it in my car for 2 years straight. I find that Amsoil Syncromesh MTF makes the shifts a lot smoother than Honda MTF. I've changed my tranny fluid 2 weeks apart from each other just to see which was smoother. Honda MTF is okay, and there's nothing wrong with it. However, Amsoil MTF just makes shifting so much smoother.

Honda MTF will be super pretty smooth after the initial fluid change, but after a week or so, it shifts just like how it felt before you did your fluid change. Amsoil MTF makes your shifts smooth like butter. After the initial fluid change with Amsoil MTF, I actually wasn't sure if I was in gear yet, because its so smooth.

If you want, you could always test this out yourself, since MTF is rather cheap. Change using Honda MTF, and keep it in your car for 2 weeks. After that, change the fluid with Amsoil MTF. Keep the Amsoil MTF in your car for 2 weeks, and if you don't think it performs any better than Honda MTF. Change it back to Honda MTF, but I doubt you will.

I'd highly recommend using Amsoil MTF.

Its the hole where the reverse sensor is screwed into the transmission on the top. Your going to need a 27mm extended socket to remove it. It should be next to the transmission grounding point to the right of it. A pic of it can be found at civicforums in the DIY AEM CAI install. LoL, Im too lazy to go get it.
