2005 cadillac cts crankshaft position sensor location

The 2008 Cadillac CTS crankshaft position sensor can be found on the right side of the engine underneath the power steering pump on the back of the engine. The sensor is located just at or below the valve cover to the cylinder head sealing line which is on the belt side of the engine. The camshaft sensor's main purpose is to identify the position of the camshaft as it is related to the crankshaft. This data is then sent to the powertrain control module to use with the fuel injector and ignition system control to determine the amount of fuel it needs to inject for combustion and power. Some of the signs to look out for if You think You have a faulty sensor are the check engine light on, problems starting the vehicle or no start, and the car jerking or surge forward when accelerating.

The crankshaft position sensor can be found mounted on the engine block at the rear of the engine in the 2008 cadillac cts.

My car went dead at a stop light, after checking batter even though the green indicator light says it's OK; found that it was dead. Bought new battery, now it seems like everything works; but the engine won't get any gas. How do you figure if it's the crank sensor or fuel pump?
