May I ask ... What was it doing while driving in limp mode? What codes did you get from the diag-system that lead to the replacement of the TCCM? I have a 11 that has the Serv 4WD on the display.... trying to root cause it is not getting me anywhere... Joined

In need of help,
I had the service 4wd light come on and the car went into a limp mode.
Took it to Jeep and the transfer case control module is stuffed and needs replacing.
The new part arrives this week from the USA.
I have no idea where it's located and can't justify $330 for Jeep to swap it out.
Searched everywhere and
can only find info on Older jeeps.
Haynes manual has no info.
Please let me know where the module is located.
Had no responded but it is located under the front left seat in the box, like the battery box.

Hi mate,
Not sure on the code as jeep did the scan and told me what needed replacing.
Limp was like it was in second gear.
Putting it into gear was a hard clunk.

Hey, reviving an old post I know, but any word on a part number, or price you paid? I too have the same issue and do not want to get stuck with the outrageous dealership price. Any help is appreciated!

I got the part number from the dealer when they told me it was the problem.
It is on top
of the unit if you have a look at it under the seat.
I got it from mopar parts online, was here in a week, where jeep said 4 weeks.
If you type in google wk2 transfer control module afew come up cheap.
Can't remember the price was about 400 off memory.

Hi guys sorry to revive an old post.
I have the exact same problem and looking at getting a new TCCM. Just a question about programming, Jeep reckon it needs to be programmed, is this something we can do ourselves? How did the OP manage to get his programmed?
Cheers

Did you have to take it back in for reprogramming? Or was it a click back into place and done deal?

I bought the part for ~$275 from Moparpartsonline.com and matched it with my VIN #. There was no need to have it flashed or reprogrammed - it worked and drove instantly. My jeep actually drives even better than it did before all of this happened.

Add another one to the list...2011 JGC Limited 5.7 Diagnosis - 3 shops
so far: Reading through posts on this forum I was able to find threads referring to this issue. Some had success replacing the Transfer Case Control Module vs replacing major TC components. The cost for a new module and installing myself seems to be worth a shot before
I shell out bigger money. Many say they did not program and have had zero issue (tell me if they are lying). I could use a little help verifying best part number replacement, I have found a few and they range from $98 - $450 but PN's have been consistent: 1. Mopar (68395643AA) I have searched online for video and/or diagrams to exactly pin point location and haven't had much luck. I attached
the best diagram I could find and was hoping to get confirmation: Any help is much appreciated.
Problem - Experiencing the 13-16 rotational clicks when shifting into gear but not moving yet. However, no drive-ability issues, dash warnings or anything else noticed while driving. I also tried shifting into 4lo and no dash warning there either.
1. Private owned > Need new transfer case ($2900 installed)
2. Private owned #2 > Don't want to work on it in case programming is needed (Free)
3. Dealership > Need new shift motor ($1060.00 installed)
2. Mopar Part No.:68194552AB (looks to replace AA?)
3. Is there a better PN?
1. Is the part #4 in the attached diagram the correct part?
2. Under the passenger side back seat? Most threads I could find (2012+) reference under the drivers seat.

Hi all, If anyone has to change one out it took me 5 minutes, so I was glad I didn't ot jeep 300 bucks to do it. Hello there, I know it was a while ago and you managed it successfully, but I got
a question connecting to your issue. Your input will be highly appriciated as I don't want to order this module till I am not sure it will work fine in my car. Many thanks in advance.
Had no responded but it is located under the front left seat in the box, like the battery box.
The same module in my car flooded and become dead. I found the used spare part whit exact match of part numbers.
Did you had to program it again when you install the new module or it is "plug n play" ?

I replaced mine a few weeks ago, brand new unit, about a minute to replace and no programming needed.
Unclip the hatch, rip it out and unplug, replace and good to go.

“Module-Transfer Case Control” and it was located under your drivers seat?

passenger side and what looks to be back seat. That’s why I am confused.

Yes, I bought the Transfer Case Control Module from a Grand Cherokee wreckers in Melbourne, he said the problem is
common and that the one I received is brand new and comes factory loaded with the latest software.
Run a scan to see what codes it throws first. Mine came up with a few whacky ones like :no 5v supply to Transfer Case brake and a few other errors which pointed towards the module being fried.
