Design options include 16-inch wheels and your choice of Alloy Silver Metallic and Labrador Black Pearl exterior colors. Inside, you get comfortable black cloth seating. 

Outlander Sport 

The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport also comes with its fair share of pluses. It has a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine with slightly less power that will get you up to 148 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. You get bold 18-inch wheels and additional paint color options, including Octane Blue, Oak Brown, and Mercury Gray. There’s a choice of black or gray fabric seating. 

Both Options Work to Keep You Safe  

Both of these Mitsubishi options are highly rated when it comes to safety. You’ll find that each comes with standard features such as a backup camera, an anti-lock braking system with brake assist, and lane departure warning. In the event of a collision, you’ll be kept better protected by the advanced air-bag system, which includes front head and side air bags, driver air bags, and knee, passenger, and rear head air bags.

If you've been shopping our new Mitsubishi inventory in Fairfield, you've likely seen the Eclipse Cross and Outlander Sport. From first glance, these models appear a lot alike. They're both show off a sleek, thin crossover body and demonstrate the perfect stepping stone between an SUV and a sedan. It's their unibody frame that makes each one the depiction of a crossover, and if you are searching for a responsive, adventurous vehicle, either one could be your on-road match.

Since they share a body style, it can be difficult to see the differences right off the bat. • Eclipse Cross: This model stands at 66.5 inches with a length of 173.4 inches. Like the Outlander Sport, it's a classic five-seat interior layout with seven exterior color options. It also includes heated side mirrors along with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof that can make all-season driving spectacular. The cargo capacity behind the rear row is slightly less than the Outlander Sport and sits at 48.9 cubic-feet.

Performance and Fuel Economy

• Outlander Sport: A 148-horsepower 2.0-liter MIVEC four-cylinder engine powers the ES and SE trims and switches to a 168-horsepower 2.4-liter MIVEC engine in the GT trim. Drivers take advantage of the Outlander Sport's maximum fuel economy when they choose the 2.0-liter engine, which means they'll be getting 24 mpg on city streets and 30 mpg on the interstate. This model comes available with All-Wheel Control that's near as fuel efficient as its two-wheel counterpart (23 mpg city/29 mpg highway). 
• Eclipse Cross: Unlike the Outlander Sport, the Eclipse Cross sticks with the same powertrain for all four trims: the 1.5-liter direct-injection turbo engine. This powertrain reaches 152 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque around Connecticut. Unique is the Super All-Wheel Control for all-star traction by combining Active Stability Control, Anti-Lock Braking System and more. If you choose the all-wheel-drive system, you'll be sacrificing your fuel economy a bit for better traction: 25 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

Technology and Safety

• Outlander Sport: Drivers will use the seven-inch Smartphone Link Display Audio System, Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ and a Bluetooth® wireless system and two USB ports to remain engaged during every drive. Then in addition to staying entertained, you'll also be kept safe with several safety feature options that monitor your blind spots, lane position, objects behind you, visibility and accident triggers.
• Eclipse Cross: The same seven-inch touchscreen display is found inside the Eclipse Cross with similar smartphone compatibility. Plus, a touchpad to navigate your touchscreen without letting your eyes leave the road and a Head-Up Display that shows your speed on your windshield. The Eclipse Cross follows the direction of the Outlander Sport regarding safety by limiting collision probability thanks to features that monitor your surroundings like the Multi-View Camera System and Adaptive Cruise Control.
