It's my favorite day of the year: NATIONAL DOUGHNUT DAY. (obviously) Not so obvious though are the best spots in Atlanta that you donut want to miss! Show
Revolution DoughnutsMy first love and probably my favorite spot in Atlanta is Revolution Doughnuts. Now boasting two locations this shop had humble beginnings at farmer's markets around the city. The first location, in Decatur, opened on national doughnut say in 2012 and hasn't slowed down since! One of my favorite things about Revolution is the dedication to realness. Real people hand crafting doughnuts and real ingredients being used. They source local dairy, natural extracts, and organic flours. So when you bite into the raspberry sprinkle doughnut and say "this tastes like raspberries." it's because there are real raspberries crushed into the glaze. Some of my favorites: Raspberry Sprinkle, Toasted Almond, Orange Pistachio, & Lemon Poppyseed. Fun fact: Every year I get a doughnut birthday cake from Revolution. I mean, who would want a GIANT doughnut?! Inman Park Location745 Edgewood Ave NE Decatur Location908 W College Ave Doughnut DolliesComing in with the uniqueness factor is Doughnut Dollies. Currently they have one location in Marietta but they are slated to open two more locations, one on the Westside and another off Spring Street. Flavors like Birthday Cake, Lemon Lavender, Lemon Thyme, Moon Pie (a homemade moon pie shoved in-between tow doughnuts), and the Dollie (Creme Brûlée). My favorite thing about the doughnuts are the custom letters you can get- like my ATL doughnut post for this year! Anna, the owner and head pastry chef is an absolute peach- this is one spot you donut want to sleep on! Marietta Location724 Cherokee Street, Suite D BeetleCatChef Ford Fry combined my two favorite things: Brunch and Doughnuts to create Donut Brunch at BeetleCat every weekend. Doughnuts with pig floss, Irish coffee, and sesame seeds, these gourmet doughnuts turn heads- turn them into a Benedict or a fried chicken sandwich with a fried and and you've hit the jackpot. Be prepared to tap into your gluttonous side here! 299 N. Highland Ave. N.E Bon GlazeBon Glaze has two locations with plans to add more. If you're looking for a more local version of a Krispy Kreme style doughnut you've gone to the right place! My favorites are the plain glazed and Blueberry Sour Creme. They also have a bunch of different types of bacon available too! Bon Glaze does custom doughnut letters as well- I used them last year for National Doughnut Day! Buckhead3794 Roswell Rd Brookhaven3575 Durden Dr Sublime DoughnutsSublime Doughnuts is probably the most well-known doughnut shop in Atlanta with it's iconic A-Town doughnuts. 3 locations in Atlanta (one in Mercedes Benz Stadium Suite level) and one in Thailand this shop has it's eyes on worldwide. Pucker up your sweet tooth and grab some milk because these doughnuts are SWEET. My favorites are Nutella, A-Town Mocha, Honey Glazed Bowtie, and S'mores.
