All to you lyrics scott keo

When it comes to wedding receptions, coming up with the perfect songs for your special dances can be hard! First dance is usually easy because it’s a song that has special meaning to the bride and groom… The father daughter dance has likely been picked out YEARS before the engagement even happened… but the Mother-Son dance? That’s a tough one…  For one thing, there aren’t a lot of them so I thought I would give you a few selections to help… I’ll give you my top 10 mother-son song suggestions… then let me know what song you used at your wedding (or are planning to.. )

I am going to number them… but only because I think people like that… doesn’t mean I think one is better than another…

#1… DJ Keo- All to you

Scott Keo was a wedding DJ that was tired of not having decent songs for the Mother-Son Dance so wrote and recorded his own.

“Can I have this dance with you one more time. Before I start down the road of my brand new life.
There’s no way to thank you, for all that you have done. No matter how old I get I will always be your son.”

2… T. Carter Music- A Mother’s Song

A Mother’s Song from T Carter Music is the #1 most requested mother-son dance song! With lyrics that speak from the heart, A Mother’s Song is sure to tug at your heartstrings.

“Be strong, be kind Be patient and in time You’ll find out, my son What true love is all about Be faithful and be true Show love in all you do Then you’ll know, just how You make your mother proud”

#3…Aaron Lines- Twenty Years Late

Canadian Country Singer Aaron Lines released his song Twenty Years Late on his 2006 album Waitin’ on the Wonderful. A beautiful tribute to his mom as he looks back on everything she did for him and says thank you “twenty years late”.

“You were a taxicab driver, a nurse and a maid
A waitress, a cook and a shoulder to lay
My head on to cry on, when nothing was going my way
You knew every answer without cracking a book
And I took for granted that I had it so good

And I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to say
Thank you I love you”

#4…Mikki Viereck- A Song for my Son

Mikki is a dedicated wedding ceremony officiant, who has been in the wedding industry for over 35 years. She is respected and recommended by wedding professionals throughout Massachusetts. Being in the wedding industry, Mikki also saw a need for a song for the Mother-Son dance and recorded “A song for my son”

“Be kind, be sweet
Be a gentle man
Care and share
And always be fair
And remember though you now
Have taken a wife
You will always be my son
My Loving son”

#5… Molly Pasutti- The Man You’ve Become

“THE MAN YOU’VE BECOME,” sung by Molly Pasutti and written by multiple Emmy-winner GLORIA SKLEROV and co-writer BARBARA ROTHSTEIN, expresses a mother’s love and pride in her son and ‘the man he’s become’ and the joy in welcoming her daughter-in-law into the family – sentiments every mother wants to say and every son needs to hear.

“I’m so proud of who you are
The man you’ve become
Thrilled to share your deepest joy
To know you’ve found the one
For the great things you will do
I’ll be blessed ’cause you’re my son
But I’ll always see the boy
In the man you’ve become”

#6… Phil Collins- You’ll be in my heart

From the Tarzan soundtrack, the message about a mother’s unconditional love is strong.

It might be a little too upbeat to dance with your mom to though.

“’Cause you’ll be in my heart
Yes, you’ll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
You’ll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You’ll be here in my heart
Always”

#7… Jason Mraz-93 Million Miles

Jason Mraz’s smooth delivery makes for a nice mellow song to dance with your mother…

“Oh, my my how beautiful,
oh my beautiful mother
She told me,
“Son in life you’re gonna go far,
and if you do it right you’ll love where you are
Just know, that wherever you go,
you can always come back home”

#8…Lady Antebellum- Never Alone

A song originally recorded by Pianist Jim Brickman…. It was released as a single by him and Lady Antebellum. “Never Alone” deals with the concept of unconditional love, something a mother can truly relate to.

“Never alone
I’ll be in every beat of your heart
When you face the unknown
Wherever you fly
This isn’t goodbye
My love will follow you, stay with you
Baby, you’re never alone”

#9… Van Morrison-Days like this

If you are going for a classic Rock sound for your dance with your mother… can you really get much better than Van Morrison? Especially a song that reminds you to soak in the day you are experiencing.

“When you don’t need to worry there’ll be days like this
When no one’s in a hurry there’ll be days like this
When you don’t get betrayed by that old Judas kiss
Oh my mama told me there’ll be days like this”

#10…. Lynyrd Skynyrd Simple Man (Or maybe Shinedown’s version if you prefer)

What list of Mother-Son dance songs would be complete without Simple Man… Great song… amazing meaning behind it…. But it’s almost 6 minutes long!

“Mama told me when I was young
“Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say
And if you do this it’ll help you some sunny day”

There are plenty of other songs… what song are you going to use (or did you use at your wedding)?
