However, a subset of this industry involves testing mobile games and apps for money rather than strict website testing.

If this sounds like something you’re interested in, you definitely need to check out PlaytestCloud.

Similar to website testing jobs such as UserTesting, PlaytestCloud pays you to test out new games in development and to provide feedback.

In exchange for giving feedback about functionality, features, and your overall enjoyment, you get paid PayPal cash for playing games.

Generally, tests pay around $9 for a 15 minute session.

However, pay can increase depending on test length and other complicated tasks since game developers are free to ask testers to go in-depth with their reviews.

Again, this is really a quality assurance job, so you need to give feedback and suggestions to do your job correctly.

However, if you like trying new game apps and want to earn a solid wage for your time, PlaytestCloud is worth signing up for.

If you’re a trivia fanatic and aren’t interested in playing mobile games, you can always consider trying trivia apps that pay money in your spare time.

There are a number of trivia apps you can try, including:

• Swagbucks Live – A live trivia game show run by Swagbucks, a massive paid survey website.

Most apps on AppNana seem to pay around 2,000 Nanas. A $20 gift card costs somewhere around 280,000 Nanas while a $40 gift card costs approximately 480,000 Nanas.

Clearly it’ll take a while to accumulate that many points, but if you enjoy playing the games, it could be worth your time.

15. App Flame

If you like apps like Mistplay, App Flame is another one you can add to the list. Like Mistplay, App Flame lets you download sponsored games to try.

As you play, you earn coins for every minute you’re playing. This is basically like Mistplay’s system of paying you with Units the more you play games.

App Flame games display how many coins per minute the pay, and there’s also a very healthy genre variety to choose from.

The main downside is that games progressively pay fewer coins the more you play, making it important to try new games.

This is ultimately the worst part about apps that are similar to Mistplay because if you enjoy a game, you will eventually earn next to nothing for playing it.

In any case, if you want to try another game app that pays, I’d consider App Flame after you try the other apps in the list.

16. Buff

Buff is a newer player in the world of apps that pay you to play games, and it’s also one of best options for potentially earning passive income.

Apps like Buff let you play leading PC games and mobile games to passively earn rewards. You basically make money on autopilot as you play your favorite games.

You start by downloading Buff’s client for Windows or mobile app. From there, you earn Buff coins when you play any of Buff’s partner games.

Buff has a decent list of partner games, including:

Don’t expect these apps to cover any sort of expenses in your daily life. Rather, use pay to play apps to make a quick $10 to $25 every once in a while and to have fun while you do it!

And if you enjoy mobile gaming, apps that pay you to play games are basically a passive side hustle since you’d be spending time gaming on your phone anyway.

Otherwise, steer clear of them or try alternatives like passive income apps if you want to make money with your phone.

How These Apps Make Money

A lot of these apps claim to work well, but in reality, this is just marketing buzz to get you to download the app and start testing games.

Apps that pay you to try new apps make money by receiving a commission from the game developers when you download one of their games. Therefore, the more users they churn through, the more money they make.

This also means that they don’t necessarily care about putting out good games…as long as you download an app and give it a test run, they get a commission.

Ultimately, use your best judgment when deciding if playing mobile games for cash is worth it or not.
