Ark what happens when you log out

In Ark: Survival Evolved, the concept of Game Persistence applies. This means that on the player servers, the in-game world always changes, even if there are no players online.

Your character, everything you built, and your Pets, stay in-game even when you leave. While the food and water consumption of all player characters freezes when they log off, the food and water consumption of tamed dinosaurs does not, which means they can starve while you're offline.

You can physically move your character and items between the network of ARK's by accessing the Obelisks and uploading (or downloading) your data to the cross-ark. This means there exists a cluster of ARKs, each slightly different than the previous, which are always online and change persistently.

i see all sorts of time limits on other player's structures but not mine.

also, i didn't log in for a few days one time and my character died by some dino it said. is your body still in the game(and can be killed) when you log off? i may have logged off outside my hut.

Depends on the server setting if buildings will have a timer i think.

Yes, your charakter is still in the game (unconcious) so better make sure you log out inside your house and all doors are closed and locked (pincoded)

For your second question, yes, your body stays in the game when you log out. So if you're not inside a structure when you log out, something can come by and kill you. Even if you are in a structure, you can still be killed if someone aggro's a dino nearby that's capable of trashing that structure (such as what happened when a friend pissed off a bronto that was close to the thatch house we were using).

As for the timer, for structures it depends on what it's made of. I'm only guessing, but I think thatch is only about 3 or 4 days, wood is something like a week, and stone is around two weeks. As for your animals, make sure they're kept somewhere wild animals can't reach them, and that they have food. They also have a timer, but I have no idea what it is.

There are 10 types of people in the world. Those that know binary, and those that don't.

i noticed people sleeping under their thatch house. what does a stone house do?

They fell asleep in their house and fell through the floor. As for dinos they have the same timer as the wood structures

If you build with Foundations, you wont fall through the floor. Its a game glitch. What you likely see is someone who either built a raise platform with pillars, put a ceiling on top, and when they logged off, they glitched through the ceiling.

The way to do this is make sure where ever you log off, you log off on a FOUDNATION (Thatch, Wood, Stone, Metal). Its okay to put buildings on ceilings, they wont glitch through them. Birds wont glitch through ceilings either. But all other non flying creatures will glitch through a ceiling.

Hope that helps.

You for sure fall through the foundations I know for fact this happens. I also know for fact that animals fall through foundations. Stop spreading misinformation.

I swear, next people will complain if they make a game with a sequel in mind.

Does your character stay in Ark?

In Ark: Survival Evolved, the concept of Game Persistence applies. This means that on the player servers, the in-game world always changes, even if there are no players online. Your character, everything you built, and your Pets, stay in-game even when you leave.

What happens when you leave a server in Ark?

You'll drop to the ground wherever you are, which can be dangerous if you're riding a dino or in the middle of nowhere. If the server is up 24/7, this means that other players can kill/trap you, as well as other dinosaurs, or you could succumb to the elements (Freezing, starvation, thirst, heat) and die.

Can you log off while taming in Ark?

yup you can, as long as it has enough food and does not get attacked and killed or wakes up.

Do Ark servers get wiped?

To help bring newbies aboard, the game features beginner servers with lower difficulty and various limits, but to keep them ship-shape for their purpose, Studio Wildcard routinely wipes them clean. And, if you're playing on them or thinking of getting into Ark, it's worth knowing when these wipes will happen.
