In Ark: Survival Evolved, the concept of Game Persistence applies. This means that on the player servers, the in-game world always changes, even if there are no players online.
Your character, everything you built, and your Pets, stay in-game even when you leave. While the food and water consumption of all player characters freezes when they log off, the food and water consumption of tamed dinosaurs does not, which means they can starve while you're offline.
You can physically move your character and items between the network of ARK's by accessing the Obelisks and uploading (or downloading) your data to the cross-ark. This means there exists a cluster of ARKs, each slightly different than the previous, which are always online and change persistently.

- how long can i go without logging in online?
kcudytsur 6 years ago#1 i see all sorts of time limits on other player's structures but not mine. also, i didn't log in for a few days one time and my character died by some dino it said. is your body still in the game(and can be killed) when you log off? i may have logged off outside my hut. T2_Inzzane 6 years ago#2 Depends on the server setting if buildings will have a timer i think. Yes, your charakter is still in the game (unconcious) so better make sure you log out inside your house and all doors are closed and locked (pincoded) GT: ZAYNE 79 PSN: MrInzzane |
Talon5967 6 years ago#3 For your second question, yes, your body stays in the game when you log out. So if you're not inside a structure when you log out, something can come by and kill you. Even if you are in a structure, you can still be killed if someone aggro's a dino nearby that's capable of trashing that structure (such as what happened when a friend pissed off a bronto that was close to the thatch house we were using). As for the timer, for structures it depends on what it's made of. I'm only guessing, but I think thatch is only about 3 or 4 days, wood is something like a week, and stone is around two weeks. As for your animals, make sure they're kept somewhere wild animals can't reach them, and that they have food. They also have a timer, but I have no idea what it is. There are 10 types of people in the world. Those that know binary, and those that don't. |
kcudytsur (Topic Creator)6 years ago#4 i noticed people sleeping under their thatch house. what does a stone house do? XboxWon |
animalswillrule 6 years ago#5 They fell asleep in their house and fell through the floor. As for dinos they have the same timer as the wood structures Arguing online is like boxing in the circus. You might win but you're still a clown |
StalkingWolf 6 years ago#6 If you build with Foundations, you wont fall through the floor. Its a game glitch. What you likely see is someone who either built a raise platform with pillars, put a ceiling on top, and when they logged off, they glitched through the ceiling. The way to do this is make sure where ever you log off, you log off on a FOUDNATION (Thatch, Wood, Stone, Metal). Its okay to put buildings on ceilings, they wont glitch through them. Birds wont glitch through ceilings either. But all other non flying creatures will glitch through a ceiling. Hope that helps. |

You for sure fall through the foundations I know for fact this happens. I also know for fact that animals fall through foundations. Stop spreading misinformation. I swear, next people will complain if they make a game with a sequel in mind. |
