Best place to sell car reddit 2022

Trying to sell a couple vehicles. I was told Carswitch is a good site but they don't take the cars I'm selling. Any recommendations? 2005 Acura TSX and 2006 Nissan Titan

Best place to sell car reddit 2022

I've sold many cars privately in the past, but it's been about 5-6 years. In 2020, where's the best place to list your car for sale? Autotrader and Cars.com used to be my go to. Is is still worth the $ to list there?

FWIW, I'm selling a 2019 Honda Odyssey. Have had it listed on FB Marketplace for the past few weeks. Only a couple scammers and extremely lowball offers so far.

Wanted to share my experience to hopefully save someone some time!

With used cars being valued as highly as they are right now, I decided that I wanted to see how much I could get for my 2016 Honda Accord. I’ve visited Carmax and 3 Honda dealerships so far + been in contact with one other that I haven’t visited yet.

  • Brown’s Arlington Honda: first place I went to, and the fucking worst. Treated me like I didn’t know what I was talking about, threatened to keep my car keys, no one wore masks, etc. It was bad! But they offered me $15k for my car.

  • Tysons Honda: they were okay. Pushy, as dealerships tend to be. Offered $15k for my car, pushed them to $18k, but it took a LOT of pushing. I’d also only get that $18k “value” if I buy a car from them.

  • Hendrick (Woodbridge) Honda: meh. Didn’t outright give me an appraisal number since I told them I had a Carmax offer in hand. Ultimately not worth my time, but they were nice. They probably would’ve offered me $15k if I didn’t have the Carmax offer with me.

  • Carmax: the best experience. Did their online assessment for my car, was given an appraisal estimate of $18.4-18.6k initially. Carmax owns edmunds, so I went thru edmunds as well and they gave me an appraisal estimate of $19.1k. Since edmunds is owned by Carmax, the offer page told me “Carmax wants to buy your car at above market value!” And let me email myself a QR code and let me set up an appointment to get my car’s condition verified at a Carmax. Carmax actually ended up offering me $19.1k, which shocked me.

For reference: the “instant cash offer” kbb value of my car is ~$17k. Trade in value $17-19k for good/very good condition, $19-22k for private party value.

Hope this helps someone :)

Where is the best place to sell your car 2022?

Autotrader: Great for getting eyes on your listing..
CarGurus: Great for a quick offer..
Facebook Marketplace: Great for selling to a private party..
eBay Motors: Great for marketing your vehicle to a large audience..
Carvana: Great for no-hassle selling..
Ask an expert about selling a car online..

Who is paying the most for used cars?

Regardless of the age of the vehicle, we again found that Carmax is the best bet for a seller looking to get top dollar. The difference in offers is particularly pronounced for vehicles produced in the last six years, as well as those from 2009 and earlier.

Is a new car worth it in 2022?

Lower Prices: Though it may seem counterintuitive, buying a new car can save you money in the long run. Buying a new car in 2022 means not only getting a lower price but also getting a vehicle that's under warranty. This means that if something goes wrong with your car, you won't have to pay for repairs.

Is there a subreddit for buying cars?
