Jeep has been producing their all-American true utility vehicle since 1987. In 2007, the more familiar Wrangler JK generation appeared on lots and offered a wealth of contemporary upgrades, so drivers could better enjoy their weekend ride every day. These days you aren't limited to vinyl seats, a stick shift, and roll bars. Soft-touch surfaces, power windows, cruise control, and infotainment systems have been steadily added over time. In 2018, Jeep offered the new Wrangler JL for sale and continued to banish the dedicated off-road reputation, but maintained the muscle and rugged design needed for fun. Prior to 2018, the Wrangler was powered by the 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine with 305 horsepower at your disposal. There is now a turbocharged 2.0L option available. Is the family growing? Consider a four-door Wrangler Unlimited, that provides enough leg room in the back for the growing kids and still has room for the sports gear. FAQQ: Is Jeep still making the Wrangler? A: Yes. Jeep has been cranking out Wranglers since 1987, offering off-road enthusiasts a rugged and versatile vehicle. The latest iteration was released in 2018 as the Wrangler JL in both two and four-door configurations. Q: Are all Wranglers 4X4? A: Yes. Part of the definition of this SUV is its total commitment to clambering over rocks, through streams, and thoroughly embracing the outdoor lifestyle. However, you can find different 4X4 systems for sale on varying trims. The Command-Trac® delivers a comfortable ride on the highway and is ready to tackle sand, mud, and snow. If you like to hit the off-road parks on the weekends, look for the Rock-Trac® system with the ability to inch along over uncertain terrain and climb steep inclines. Q: What is a four door Jeep Wrangler called? A: Since 2007, the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited offers a longer wheelbase and four doors for drivers who wanted extra versatility and enough room for their backseat guests. This vehicle does that perfectly. It is so much fun as soon as the wheels leave pavement. It is also a blast to take the top and doors off. The vehicle isn’t exactly a bastion of value from an objective standpoint...but from a subjective standpoint, this vehicle does things no other vehicle really does and it does it well. It’s a blast to drive. I have the hardtop, if you plan to do a lot of off-road I would probably go for the soft top. Hasn’t caused any issues but I worry about the hardtop when I get jostled bad as it creaks slightly. The soft top would make me feel less anxious about it. All in all I have never had a vehicle make me grin as much as this one. Pros
Cons
I spent countless hours of research going over all aspects of the pro's & con's of this vehicle prior to purchase. While many other SUV types undoubtedly offered better features in terms of reliability, maintenance, and maybe gas mileage - no other comes with the the iconoclastic look or name of : Jeep. That's it. Says it all And once you see and get in one, game over. Mine is black, with black rims, I added black pipes ( the loudest a Jeep can go ) and my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is ready for 4 Wheeling or just a cruise about town. Either way, heaven. With 285 hp I'm ensured that power will be there when I need it. I added the additional maintenance program cost to extend the life of the Jeep, and offset any subsequent maintenance issues. Pros

- Megan Lowery, 2014 Jeep Wrangler the 18 and forward JL Wranglers are a welcome update to what has been a long proven off-road platform that had, in the JK models, lagged well behind in creature comforts and interior fit and finish. We owned two JK Wranglers before this JL and have had no problems with any of them but the JL is much more comfortable inside and better mannered as a daily driver. Even with the v6 the new transmission returns impressive fuel mileage and with just a few external and internal upgrades and aftermarket modifications you’ve got a fun lifestyle vehicle on your hands that holds its value like nothing else on the road!
