Chamberlain/Liftmaster Garage Door Openers
The example photos below show how to connect the GarageMate receiver to your Chamberlain/Liftmaster garage door opener. For your reference we have also included links to some Chamberlain/Liftmaster user manuals. Note if you can’t immediately find your wiring terminals, sometimes they are behind the translucent lightbulb cover.
Even if your exact model isn’t referenced on this page, GarageMate will work as a remote control for most residential Chamberlain/Liftmaster garage door openers. You simply connect the GarageMate wires in parallel to your wall switch. GarageMate will work fine even if you reverse the wires. We color code the wires simply for convention but they are electrically equivalent.
We have many customers that own a LiftMaster/Chamberlain garage door opener as the vast majority are compatible with GarageMate. But some models made after 2011 are not. Newer Liftmaster/Chamberlain models have the manufacturing date clearly printed on the garage door opener. If it is manufactured in 2011 or later (or if you are uncertain of the manufacture date), you can determine compatibility by the color of the "learn" button near the wiring terminals. If it is yellow it is NOT compatible. But if it is any other color like red, blue, purple, etc, it is compatible. See the photo below.
Some Incompatible Chamberlain/Liftmaster Models
Chamberlain HD220,and 45DCBR5 are not compatible with aftermarket accessories like GarageMate.
Liftmaster 41D767, and 8075 are not compatible with aftermarket accessories like GarageMate.
Chamberlain/Liftmaster Wiring Diagrams
Keep in mind the vast majority of Chamberlain/Liftmaster were made prior to 2011 and will be compatible with GarageMate. See the wiring diagrams below. We have marked the images below with a red and white arrow that indicate where to wire GarageMate"s RED and WHITE wires.

Additional wiring examples
Below are some random wiring examples that maybe helpful. Note the photo show the terminals before the wires from GarageMate are connected. Those terminals are designed to hold multiple wires so please leave your existing wires in place so that your existing wall button/console will continue to work just fine. Most garage door openers have similar terminals.
GarageMate is the best selling Android and iPhone remote control App for Chamberlain/Liftmaster garage door openers. GarageMate uses Bluetooth®4.0 technology making it more reliable, more secure, and faster than SMS(text message) or Wifi/Internet based remote controls.
