Victory Acres ChihuahuasJasper, MO Show About Victory Acres Chihuahuas is well known for their beautiful, healthy babies. I started breeding/raising chihuahuas 40 plus years ago. It was my first love of an AKC dog breed, and still remains my love. All of our Victory Acres babies are handled daily, and are raised in playpens, not on wire, or in small enclosures. Mom's are allowed to potty and get some fresh air, at least 4 times a day. Before any of our babies leave our home, they are vet checked, vaccinated at least twice, current wormings, and preventatives. Each baby has a unique personality, but all are loved. My 2 sons have both chose to be a part, and help in raising these little ones. Adam(the youngest) does meet people up to 7 hours from our home, at a cost of 60 miles for $50, or $350 for 420 miles(one way). He has done an excellent job of caring for the babies, and I have had zero complaints since he started doing this service for our babies. All babies come with their very own puppy kit, which includes the Royal Canin chihuahua puppy food kit, a puppy blanket, puppy toys, a chew, their health record book, and their AKC paperwork, to register the baby in your name. I do sell all of the babies limited AKC, pet only, unless there has been a further discussion about full AKC, and I approve that. Thanks for reading, and your interest in our Victory Acres babies. Judy, Jesse, & Adam There is some confusion as to the direct origin of the Chihuahua. Some say they were used by Aztecs for ritual purposes because they were believed to have mystic powers and they faded away when the Aztecs were conquered in the 1500s. Others say that some hairless dogs were found in Mexico by some traders from Spain and were crossbred with other breeds to bring about the Chihuahua. This dog breed was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1904. They have become quite popular over the years. The Chihuahua is a very loyal and affectionate dog. They have some terrier-like traits as they are very suspicious of strangers and they could be the perfect watchdog. They do better with human affection and companionship. They usually just bond with one or two persons but they could make friends if they are properly socialized. They tend to be shy and reserved at first but with constant socialization, they are more friendly. The Chihuahua is a perfect apartment dog. They are small so you don’t have to worry about them knocking things over. They do not need so much exercise so they could live with older people. They do well with children who are older because the fuss of an infant and a Chihuahua may not be a good combination. They are house dwellers and are very comfortable being inside all day. You should have a warm place though as they are not so tolerant of cold weather conditions. The Chihuahua also has exercise requirements as this will improve their health. They are relatively small dogs so they would do well running around the house or a yard if you have one. They are always willing to play if you’re up to it. You could take them on walks once a day. They love to play outside but they should never be left unattended because they are at risk if they’re spotted by big dogs or coyotes or hawks. They are first and foremost companion dogs and this means they should always be with you. A Chihuahua would need to be brushed weekly or more frequently and bathed once a month or as necessary. You should use dog shampoo so that you do not strip them of their natural oils. Clean their ears regularly and check for excess wax or signs of infection. They are prone to excess tearing so make sure you clean their eyes regularly with a damp cloth. Trim their nails if you can hear them on the floor and you should take them to a professional groomer once in a while.
