3.0 out of 5 stars It’s okay.

The packaging is VERY misleading to the consumer. The average person isn’t going to be able to distinguish between “sold by weight” vs the size of the actual tub it comes in, expecting that it would be full. I was appalled to see my jar half full, you don’t actually need a canister that large for the product to be sold by weight, reduce your carbon footprint a little bit maybe? For the actual powder; it tastes nasty. I mixed it with crystal lite and found that to be the best way to stomach it to get it down.It also left weird frothy clearish looking gel beads in my drink that wouldn’t dissolve. Kinda grossed me out, like it was fish eggs or something.I was worried about how it would dissolve in cold water so I used some warm water to let it dissolve first then poured in the rest of my crystal lite. It dissolved without issue. If you do one-two scoops every day, you might get 2 weeks out of this 9oz container MAX, I think the labeling should be more transparent with how much of a supply you’re actually getting. This is my first “collagen” powder so I had no bias or expectations with this product.

This is a nice collagen but the taste is very unusual. I was expecting a fruity flavor but it just smells like the flavor, it taste like soap and water. I mix it in with my morning smoothie. The smell though is very over powering even if you mix it with any other liquid. I know it says mix with water, but seriously it's gross. It is also hard to mix, it does get clumpy but it will go away after a min or two of mixing or shaking in a shaker bottle. Don't recommend a shaker bottle becase it foams alot. But hey its up to you. Makes the taste ten times worse. But other then that its good.

Tastes really gross but I kept using because I didn’t want to waste. Every morning I chug this nasty stuff down and my skin has cleared up and my hair is looking shiny

This is my favorite Vital Proteins Collagen purchase so far.

First, I bought the Vanilla (yellow can) and loved it - it blended easily and the flavor went well with everything.

Then, I bought the Plain (blue can) which included vitamin C - that was my least favorite because it didn't blend well at all, and left sticky clumps in my smoothies or coffee.

But this - this Strawberry Lemon (pink can) is my favorite! It's delicious and sweet (but not overly sweet) either in my smoothies or in just water - I love it! I have a protein powder by Ghost that I bought from GNC, it is flavored like your cereal milk would be after eating Froot Loops, but not very strong. I like to add this to it.

I like how it tastes and seems to work a little hard to dissolve in water though

I love the taste! I mixed it with a tall glass of water and a quarter cup of oat milk. Although it took a while to blend it by stirring it with a spoon (I might use a blender next time), I was surprised with how good it tastes! Also I felt full after drinking the whole thing at once so hopefully this will help me lose some weight and help me maintain it as well this time around.

I had this product for a few weeks and I have seen progress in length and strengthening in my fingernails. However, I have not seen any new hair growth. But I will continue it until the bottle is empty.

**Also, I measured and weighed the contents with the bottle and without the bottle. The manufacturer gave me more ounces than were posted on the bottle. I heard a bunch of comments about 1/2 a bottle. It appears that the manufacturer uses a one-size-fits-all bottle, and maybe it is cost-effective that way. Therefore, I can see why people are saying that they only have half a bottle but that is not the case with me. Otherwise, by now people could sue the manufacturer and I am sure a manufacturer would want to risk being in a lawsuit for false advertising.
***So before commenting that the bottle is half-full, weigh the entire bottle with and without the contents. Then pour the contents into a plastic zip-lock bag and weigh it on a kitchen scale that measures Ounces or Grams. Hope this helps. Peace!

First off I wanna sayd that if you are expecting this to taste like flavored water packets like crystal light or something you wont be getting that. When I first tried this i was shocked by the lack of sweetness (i'm used to drinking those sugared flvr water packets). There is no sweetness at all to this drink but thats not a bad thing it just was a surprise to me. Now i got the Watermelon Mint flvr and be PERFECT way to describe the taste of it is when you chew watermelon gum and you've been chewing it for a while and theres a bit of flvr left but you should probs spit it out lol thats what this tastes like to a T. but again, not a bad thing just not what i was expecting lol.

as for the mixing, I know a lot of the reviews have mentioned how it doesnt exactly mix super well but it definitely can. what worked for me was putting two scoops in and mixing it up for like 30-60 sec and then letting it sit. I would just go have my cup of coffee and then i would come back and mix it up for another 30 sec (bc some of the powder will settle on the bottom) and after that secondary mix its good to go. can be a little annoying but it does work. Overall if you really are looking for something to off you some health benefits and youre not just looking for flavored water mix this product is good. I havent been using it long enough to see if the college benefits actually work but the product as it stands rn isnt bad.

Good taste and blended right up! Too soon to say whether or not it is effective.

1.0 out of 5 stars Overpriced and Not Worth the Money

Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on October 13, 2021

I decided to try out collagen supplements to help with my joints and also potentially to improve my skin. Since Vital Proteins seemed to be one of the most famous collagen powders out there I decided to give it a try. Here are my thoughts: The taste isn't great, but that doesn't bother me so much, since I drink it quite fast. In order to see true benefits you will have to drink this for at least a few months, but the tub is only enough for 2 weeks. On top of that it's really expensive in comparison to other collagen powders.

I have also done a bit more research regarding collagen powders and the ingredients used and also their efficacy. Collagen powders contain unusable scraps/leftovers from the meat industry such as skin, bones, connective tissue etc. which isn't an issue for me as long as it works. However not only are these extremely cheap ingredients there is also little scientific evidence that it works. When you ingest collagen you are simply consuming the building blocks (amino acid peptides) in hopes that they are absorbed by your bloodstream. But there hasn't been enough studies to confirm that this actually works.

Keeping that in mind I am still going to take collagen powder, but I won't be purchasing Vital Proteins anymore because their high prices are not justified for a product that contains such cheap ingredients.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not sure why there are comments about it being sweet...

Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on May 14, 2021

As it doesn’t taste sweet at all, you can obviously tell it’s a fruit taste but you must be mixing in with a small amount of water if it’s sweet because I add it to my hot Rooibos tea and it just tastes like fruit tea, but nothing like say squash.

Also, it dissolves completely just be patient and stir as it will ‘bubble’, just stir it in if it bothers you otherwise it doesn’t really do anything to the overall taste and it doesn’t have any texture.

I also opt to take only 1 scoop at a time!

1.0 out of 5 stars Sickly sweet

Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on March 9, 2021

I don’t bother writing reviews normally as I spend a long time researching a product and really want it before purchasing it. I was so excited for this collagen supplement but seriously it has the worst taste imaginable. I can’t possibly drink it without being sick. This has literally never happened to me before. I’m so disappointed.

Great product and does what it says on the tin. Saw results faster then I thought and I feel great. Although it’s an amazing product the flavour is lacking, not as strong as I thought. I still recommend!!
