Drinking water and wastewater infrastructure act of 2022 summary

What is drinking water infrastructure?

Our nation's drinking water infrastructure system is made up of 2.2 million miles of underground pipes that deliver safe, reliable water to millions of people. Unfortunately, the system is aging and underfunded.

Does the infrastructure bill include water?

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law delivers more than $50 billion to EPA to improve our nation's drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure - the single largest investment in water that the federal government has ever made.

Is water an infrastructure?

A community's water infrastructure includes all the man-made and natural features that move and treat water. While holistically it is all part of the same system, it is often convenient to think about infrastructure in terms of drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater.
