"Ma Belle Evangeline" (lit. My Beautiful Evangeline) is a romance song featured in Disney's film, The Princess and the Frog. It is sung by Ray
(Jim Cummings), and it is also the love song for characters Tiana and Prince Naveen.
Summary
Throughout the song, Tiana and Naveen become closer to one another by dancing together
and almost share a romantic kiss. It is also shown when the firefly, Ray reveals his love interest, and the Evening Star doesn't go by that name anymore, but by Evangeline for the rest of the film, for his sake.
Lyrics
Ray: Look how she lights up the sky
Ma Belle
Evangeline
Louis: That ain't no fire...
Ray: So far above me
Yet I
Know her heart belongs to only me
Je t'adore
Naveen: I adore you.
Ray: Je t'aime
Naveen: I love you. I am just translating.
Ray: Evangeline
You're my queen of the night,
So still, so bright.
That someone as beautiful as she
Could love someone like me
Tiana: Oh no. I don't dance.
Ray: Love always finds a way
is true
Tiana: I've never danced.
Ray: And I love you, Evangeline
Naveen: If I can mince, you can dance.
Ray: Ooh, yeah
(Trumpet Solo)
Ray: Ooh...
Love is beautiful
Love is wonderful
Love is everything..do you agree?
Mais oui
Look how she lights up the sky
I love you, Evangeline

What happened to Evangeline in Princess and the Frog?
Evangeline is last seen at the end of the film, where after Ray's funeral, a second star appears next to her, symbolizing Ray and the fact that he is finally together with Evangeline. They are later seen together again shining down on Tiana and Naveen as they dance together on the roof of her new restaurant.
