Ho scelto questo vetro protettivo per il mio nuovo iPhone 13 Pro perché in passato ho avuto altri prodotti del marchio Spigen e l’ho sempre considerata una marca di qualità superiore, nonostante il prezzo decisamente più basso di altri marchi quali ad esempio belkin, incase o altri che propone Apple nei suoi store e a cui secondo me spigen non ha nulla da invidiare.

La forma si adatta perfettamente al mio iPhone 13 PRO, lasciando libera la notch più ristretta dei precedenti modelli, ma dovrebbe essere perfetta anche per il 13 normale, in quanto i loro schermi hanno la stessa esatta forma.

L’allineamento / installazione è praticamente impossibile da sbagliare, grazie al kit che lo allinea automaticamente all’iphone. L’unica cosa a cui si deve fare davvero attenzione è a pulire bene lo schermo prima dell’applicazione, evitando sopratutto che della polvere cada sullo schermo proprio quando avete finito di pulirlo. Nel mio caso non è stato così e l’applicazione è risultata impeccabile (vedi foto), ma se fosse successo consiglio di insistere comunque molto con la spatolina nera in dotazione che serve a togliere eventuali bolle dopo l’applicazione e, quasi sicuramente, l’eventuale granello di polvere sarà davvero difficile da notare (non rimane comunque nessuna bolla).

Nelle foto potete notare la simmetria perfetta con cui è applicato: copre, uniformemente per tutto il bordo, poco più di un millimetro dell’area attiva dello schermo e poco meno di un millimetro del margine/ bordo del telefono (per evitare di dare fastidio ad alcune cover).

A proposito di cover, con la mia di Apple in pelle calza a pennello (vedi foto).

In più rispetto ad altri proteggi schermo in vetro ho apprezzato particolarmente il RIVESTIMENTO OLEOFOBICO: proprio come lo schermo originale di iPhone, vi è un rivestimento sopra a questo proteggi schermo che in altri non è presente che rende scorrevole e piacevolissimo qualsiasi gesto sullo schermo. Inoltre, basta una passata rapidissima di un fazzoletto o di qualsiasi cosa per pulirlo (spesso basta metterlo nella tasca dei pantaloni se sono aderenti). Ripeto, questo è un di quei plus che spigen offre al pari di marchi dal costo doppio o triplo e che non si trovano sui proteggi schermo più scarsi.

Per il resto, il vetro offre una qualità visiva eccellente ed è molto resistente ai graffi (più dello schermo di iPhone). Qualcuno potrà chiedersi perché lo schermo dei cellulari sia sempre meno resistente ai graffi dei proteggi schermo in vetro? Beh, la risposta è che aumentando la resistenza ai graffi si riduce quella alle rotture e Apple e le altre case produttrici preferiscono dare la priorità alla resistenza complessiva, a scapito di qualche graffio. Del resto, se in caso di caduta questo proteggi schermo dovesse rompersi, di certo sarebbe una perdita da pochi euro (a proposito, in confezione ce n’è già un secondo di riserva) rispetto ai quasi 400€ chiesto da Apple per sostituire l’intero schermo.

Per questo, nonostante il Ceramic Shild e la resistenza notevole dello schermo di iPhone 13 ALLE CADUTE, consiglio l’acquisto di questo proteggi schermo per prevenire graffi e stare più tranquilli.

Ultima nota fuori contesto ma (credo) utile: il Ceramic Shield molto resistente alle cadute di iPhone si trova SOLO sul fronte: le probabilità di rompere il vetro sul retro sono più alte; per questo consiglio (anche) l’uso di una cover. Spero di esservi stato utile!

Update at end: 1 week in & I’ve already dropped my phone!!

I’ve used Spigen screen protectors for years, as they work! With my iPhone 11Pro & my iPhone 12 Pro - both have fell victim to my unfortunate clumsiness and have taken tumbles (on multiple occasions). Both phone have had a Spigen screen protector and although that has Broken, my screen has stayed intact. Now this may be due to the newer iPhones enhanced toughened glass, but I’m not taking any chances!

I’m very very very picky when it comes to putting on a screen protector and dust under the glass is a big big bear of mine. Normally it’s down to incorrect installation - you need to be quick as dust from the air can settle quickly after you’ve cleaned it and before you’ve put the protector on. Neither of my screen protectors featured any dust (one went to my wife), although it looked as though one had a big scratch on it before I put it on, but it was on the protective plastic covering, not the screen protector itself.

As I said I’m very very picky, and this goes for placement too - I want my screen protector to be in the right place down to the .01 of a millimetre- other Spigen protectors gave you a bit of flexibility with placement as the screens were about 1mm smaller than the supplied fitting frame so there was a bit of wiggle room - it’s the same case here, although the screen protector is held in place rather than being loose - I’m glad to say that this resulted in a PERFECT fit for my screen! There is about a 2mm gap to the edge of the official apple leather case, which will probably mean that dirt will accumulate here, but I’m used to that as all my phones have had the same combination of case and protector, it’s nothing major and can be sorted with a wet wipe.

So this product is fantastic, but why only 4 stars? Unfortunately due to the way it is - there is rather a lot of plastic waste - two positioning frames, as well as the protective plastic films that cover both sides of the protector.

I’d recommend this to anyone with a new iPhone 13 or 13pro to protect your screen and as a plus point it feels nice and smooth against your fingertips when using! I’m not planning on dropping my phone, but when that inevitable day arrives - I’m expecting it to perform as well as previous iterations of this protector have.

Soo…after hoping not to drop my phone it happened after owning it for a week! From the sink top onto the tiles bathroom floor - facedown. 🙈🙈🙈 screen protector smashed to bits, screen still intact - new protector on the way! As I said, it could be due to the new screen hardness…BUT…since I’ve been using Spigen glass protectors and then accidentally dropping my phone, the screen has never broken - I’ve dropped iPhones before with no screen protectors and the screens have smashed, But since using the protectors the glass has stayed intact. Maybe they work, maybe it’s the better screen glass - but I’m not taking the change and would rather have a protector than not hence I’ve already ordered my replacement of this product and it’ll be here tomorrow! 😃

I’ve used Spigen cases and screen protectors for years and they’ve been great. Coming to the iPhone 13 Pro my usual Align Master protectors were only available in the ‘full coverage’ option which covers the front sensors and camera which I’d rather avoid.

I therefore went for this new ‘EZ Fit’ style protector, however the first protector did not align properly on the phone despite it being properly seated in the applicator. It was very clearly in the wrong place with the gap at the bottom more than double that of the top. So the first of the two protectors was scrap.

The second protector went on reasonably ok but it’s still not quite straight. It took quite a bit of effort to get the protector to stick and to get the air bubbles out which I’ve not had before. Time will tell whether it stays stuck down.

You can’t really see what you’re doing as the protector is covered by the plastic frame and the applicator doesn’t positively click onto the phone, it just kind of sits there on top.

The old style ‘Spigen Align Master’ with the separate alignment frame and protector was far better as it gave a positive and secure click onto the phone and you could see that the protector was going on straight. I would suggest getting that style and avoiding this gimmicky ‘upgrade’.

Purchased in advance for the new iPhone and noticed it has a speck of dust/grit under the screen. Never normally have an issue but if I was to install this it would be extremely annoying. Other one is fine.
