Where You Park

We recommend charging where you park to meet most of your charging needs.

Wall Connector

A Tesla Wall Connector offers the fastest charging speed for your home or office, adding up to 44 miles of range per hour charged. You can order a Wall Connector online and have it installed by a Tesla Certified electrician.

Mobile Connectors and Adapters

If you don't want to install a Wall Connector, you can purchase a Mobile Connector and plug into a standard three-prong, 120 volt outlet. A 120 volt outlet will supply 2 to 3 miles of range per hour charged. If you charge overnight and drive less than 30 to 40 miles per day, this option should meet your typical charging needs.

You can also purchase an adapter bundle and charge with other outlet types, including a 240 volt outlet. Commonly used in homes to power larger appliances, a 240 volt outlet will supply up to 30 miles of range per hour charged.

Multi-Unit Buildings

Electric vehicle charging is offered as an amenity at many top apartment, condo and office buildings nationwide. If your property manager or HOA does not currently offer shared charging, we provide resources to start the charging installation process.

For property managers and owners, Commercial Charging provides a self-service option to install shared charging stations for tenants and guests.

On the Road

When you're traveling in your Tesla or away from where you normally park, there are three main charging options to keep your vehicle charged on the go.

Superchargers

The Tesla Supercharger is the fastest charging option when you're away from home, allowing you to charge your car up to 200 miles in 15 minutes. Designed to get you charged and back on the road as quickly as possible, we own and operate over 35,000 global Superchargers that are accessible on a 24/7 basis, located on major routes near convenient amenities.

Destination Charging

The Destination Charging network is comprised of popular hotels, restaurants, vineyards, resorts and other destinations that host Wall Connectors for customer charging. There are over 35,000 Wall Connectors at Destination Charging sites in urban areas and rural locations, making it easy to recharge when you arrive at your location or have a few hours to spare.

Third-Party Charging

Third-party charging stations can be located through Plugshare.com. Charging stations labeled as J1772 will work with a SAE J1772 adapter and 120 volt stations labeled as 120 volt will work with the Mobile Connector. When a Mobile Connector is not in use, we recommend storing it in the trunk for easy access. For maximum flexibility on the road and to charge from a 240 volt outlet, store an adapter bundle in the trunk as well.

Plan Your Trip

Before you even get in your car, use our Go Anywhere tool to plan future road trips. Select your vehicle's configuration, and add your start and end locations. The Go Anywhere tool will then provide the fastest route, including Supercharger stops and recommended charge times.

When you're traveling in your Tesla, the in-car Trip Planner will guide you to your destination. Simply enter your end location on the touchscreen and Navigation will identify the quickest course, as well as the most convenient Superchargers along the way. We advise using your in-car Trip Planner when you’re on the road or traveling long distances so that it will give you the most accurate recommended stops and charge times based on your driving.

Certain high data usage vehicle features require at least Standard Connectivity, including maps, navigation and voice commands. Access to features that use cellular data and third-party licenses are subject to change. Learn more about Standard Connectivity and any limitations.

Installation Incentives

Incentives to install EV charging equipment exist at the federal, state and local level, as well as from many utility companies.
