No, a 6x9 envelope of any construction is too small to be a flat aka large envelope. HOwever, an envelope that is actually 6.5 inches wide would qualify as a flat aka large envelope as long as it is NOT RIGID. If there's any rigid item inside the envelope -- cardboard, metal, plastic, etc. -- it is a PARCEL, not a large envelope aka flat. A "large envelope" aka flat must be at least 6-1/8 inches WIDE (short dimension) OR at least 11.5 inches LONG (long dimension). Either one or the other, not necessarily both. For example, a 7 x 10 inch envelope would qualify because 7 inches is greater than 6-1/8 inches. So would an envelope measuring 8.5 x 11 inches -- because the WIDTH exceeds 6-1/8 inches. The maximum size of a flat is 12 x 15 inches. Additional requirements for a flat are that it be flexible, not rigid, and with a uniform thickness up to 3/4 inch. Not lumpy or containing rigid items. Maximum weight of 13 oz. Think of a flat as a "floppy envelope" containing a sheaf of paper or perhaps a thin catalog. It can be rolled, folded, creased and bent. This chart (at the end of Notice 123, illustrates and specifies the characteristics of letters, flats and parcels: https://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/Notice123.htm#_c227 A 6x9 rigid envelope would be a non-machinable letter as long as it is NOT LUMPY, no more than 1/4 inch thick and weighs a maximum of 3.5 oz. If it exceeds 3.5 oz. or 1/4 inch thickness, it would be a parcel aka package. ~~C~~ Show My Glass Duchess
Shipping with USPS. I looked it up on their website, but they're giving me Priority Mail postage, $3.85 to ship. I just want to ship it like regular mail. I'm pretty sure I can just stick some stamps on here and throw it in the mailbox, but I don't know how many. Can anyone give me some insight on how many stamps I'll need? I don't want to stick too many, but I don't want it
coming back to me either. I'm shipping from work rather than home. TIA EDIT: Sorry guys, I am retarded for forgetting this info. It's a single DVD in a plastic sleeve, nothing more, nothing less.
Uhh... what's in it btw lol...

ship it media mail, should be less than $1.50, put 5 stamps on it and call it a day.
I would put 5 stamps on it...ship it first class $1.85 Oct 12, 1999 20,952 3 81 88
Easy. 37 cents for the first ounce and 23 cents for every ounce thereafter.
if you don't have a scale, 3 stamps to be safe will do it for sure, most likely 2 will be fine. if you don't mark it, it will go first class. media mail is only good for heavy books because it is really slow.
How much does it cost to mail a bubble mailer? It depends on if your bubble mailer is considered an envelope or a package. It also depends on how much it weighs. If your bubble mailer is considered an envelope and weighs 1 ounce or less, you can slap a $0.55 forever stamp on your mailer and drop it off at your post office as usual.

Can I mail a 4x8 bubble mailer with stamps? As long as the total thickness of your mailer is at least 3/4 of an inch, you'll be able to use any of the USPS shipping services to send it. One of the most popular ways to ship bubble mailers like these is USPS First Class Package Service.
