Nov 3, 2020 6:35 AM Nov 3, 2020 6:54 AM in response to lenar208 In response to lenar208 Carriers upgrade their networks every few years for better services... it could be faster data speeds, more commonly used standards, or other reasons. You've probably seen 5G currently being deployed. 4G is aka LTE. Before that was 3G. Way in the beginning is 1X on the Verizon network, for example. The 1X means you can't get a better signal for the 3G and LTE networks. 1X may give you voice service if your phone is capable of getting enough of
a signal. It's usually good only for a very short text SMS. The Verizon 1X network is eventually going away as they've indicated. Really the only solution is to move to an area with better coverage. Once a new network is built and people move to them - like almost all have moved to LTE, they start shutting down the old network. This takes years and is why 1X is still around for now. That and 3G will eventually go away. 15 years from now people will say - what does that LTE icon mean... I
can't make or receive calls. Good luck! Nov 3, 2020 6:54 AM
User profile for user: lenar208 Question: What does the 1x means at the top of my phone . I can’t call out or revive calls Answer Why does my iPhone say 1x instead of LTE? LTE is a newer cellular technology that allows for faster data speeds over a wider area than 1x. Your iPhone is likely using LTE because it was purchased after September 2014, when LTE became available in the United States. Why does my iPhone keep switching to 1x? There are a few potential causes of this issue, but the most
common is that your iPhone’s battery is running low. To check if this is the case, you can use the Battery Health app to see how much juice your battery has left. If it’s below 50%, you’ll need to charge your iPhone up before it will work at its full potential. Why is my phone service stuck on 1x? There are a few reasons why your phone might be stuck on 1x. If you’re using a phone that was purchased in the last few years,
there’s a good chance it uses an older technology called CDMA. These phones can only support 1x service, so if your carrier is using this technology, your phone might be stuck on 1x. Another reason your phone might be stuck on 1x is if there’s something blocking the signal from reaching your phone. How do I reset my network settings on my iPhone? To reset your network settings on your iPhone, open Settings, select General,
and then Reset Network Settings. What do the Verizon service bars mean? The Verizon service bars are a visual indicator of your account’s current status. There are a few ways
to refresh your mobile network. You can connect to a new network using your phone’s built-in Wi-Fi or cellular connection, or you can use a data service like T-Mobile’s Binge On. You can also manually check for updates on your carrier’s website or through the app store on your phone. Is it OK to reset network settings on iPhone? Yes, it is generally safe to reset network settings on an iPhone. However, there are a few
caveats: First, make sure you have a backup of your current settings before you reset them. Second, be aware that some features (like Airplane Mode) may not work after you reset the network settings. Finally, be sure to read the instructions that come with the reset tool you choose, as there may be important information about how to use it that you would not expect. What does extended mean on my iPhone? Extended means that
your iPhone has more memory than the standard model. Why wont my data work straight talk? There could be a few reasons why your data won’t work with Straight Talk. Is 4G and LTE same? 4G LTE is a newer version of cellular technology that uses more bandwidth and can provide faster data speeds than 3G. How do I switch from LTE to 4G? If you’re using an iPhone, go to Settings > Cellular and toggle from LTE to 4G. If you’re using a Android phone, go to Settings > Wireless and toggle from LTE to 4G. Why is my cellular data not working on my iPhone? There are a few potential reasons why your cellular data may not be working on your iPhone. One possibility is that you may not have a strong enough signal. Another possibility is that you may be using an outdated or incompatible cellular service plan. If you’re experiencing this issue on an iPhone 6 or later, it may be because Apple has discontinued support for those devices with a SIM card. How do I fix Verizon 1X connection?Turn Airplane Mode on, then off for another way to reconnect. You can always try a new SIM card (they are free at a corporate Verizon store, and customer service can also mail you one if a store is not close by.) SIM cards can go bad so a new one may solve the issue. Correct Answer!
