A helpless romantic, the wizard Adam Anteen always loved diamond dragons. Unfortunately, these beautiful creatures are hard headed and refuse to live anywhere outside the frozen highlands. Under a lot of pressure Anteen discovered a way these incredible dragons can live on the Gemstone Island. They love their new gemstone habitat, but like all gemstone dragons, they themselves cannot breed.

I have bred my lapis dragon in the runic breeding cave and now I want to go for diamond. Google said it’s ice and mine is that true? It doesn’t pop up on DragonVale sandbox as a possible outcome so just curious if anyone has had success and can confirm.

On sandbox, if you input the old gemstone dragon's (aquamarine) combo, aquamarine appears.

Sometimes sandbox takes a long time to update the limited dragons, and other times it updates within the day. I can assure you that you're using the right combo for diamond.

It's Ice and Mine, Using the 'bring em' back' toggle will pull up the breeding pair if the site hasn't been updated to the current limited dragons.

Another month, another Gemstone Dragon in DragonVale. It is the last of the gemstone dragons, the Diamond Dragon which completes the 12 Dragon set. You can breed the April Gemstone dragon with the combination below. Like other Gemstone Dragons there is only one combination you can use to hatch it. The details are as follows:

Breeding Pair: Ice + Mine

Breeding Time: 30 hours or 24 hours (with upgrade)

Availability: April

Type: Gemstone

Price: 1750 gems (Looks like its a blood diamond...)

I can confirm that the combo you're looking for is: Ice + Mine. Since this is a Gemstone dragon, it is not obvious that this is the pair you need. Another consequence of it being a Gemstone is that this is the only possible pairing, and you can not breed more by having two. Your dragons don't need to be any special level, but if they are over 15 you have a better chance. Also, the EBI will give you slightly better chances than the breeding cave, so if you are spending gems to speed up breeding, I recommend prioritizing the EBI.

Personally, I've found this one quite hard, perhaps the hardest of the Gemstones (diamond pun for you :) ). With the long fail times of Quicksilver, Steel, Silver, and Platinum, you end up waiting a long time with each failed attempt. The month is still early, so keep calm and breed on.
