I was able to use a remote from a new 4k firestick to work with an older non-4k firestick. I just held the home button for 20 seconds, with the remote next to the firestick I wanted to use it on. The first few times it did nothing. The 5th time it pulled up a message saying it didn't connect. The 6th time it worked.

I figured it out because of desperate measures :) (my dog ate my remote). The key is...if you have 2 firesticks, make sure the one you do not want to use is off. Then, in front of the firestick you want to use, hold down the home key for 10-20 seconds until it starts blinking. You are then connected. Will another fire stick remote work on a another fire stick

Mine pairs after 10 seconds but nothing appears on the screen. It remains black. What could be the issue? The power and volume buttons work. I have a Vizio smart TV. Lost one of my remotes so now have 2 fire sticks but one remote. I unplugged and tried multiple times. Ughh

Yes. I have used a 1st gen 4k remote on a 2nd gen fire stick. However it’s not a good idea to pair a remote with more than one tv. You’ll be pushing buttons in one room and changing the tv in another room. It’s best to have one remote for each Firestick.

Yes it worked!! All I had to do was restart the firestick, take the remote I had from my old firestick and hold it down for about 20 sec, spun in a circle 3 times, and barked like a dog, pressed home for 10 seconds then it flashed and then it was linked… easy Peezy

You can do it I tried about 20 times, but then I took the remote and put it directly on the fire stick in back of tv pressed home for 10 seconds and it flashed and it linked with the fire stick

Yes it will. I actually called amazon and asked this same question of course he said no and that I needed to buy a new (2nd gen) remote instead of trying to connect my 3rd gen (4k) remote. I noticed that while the remote was touching the stick the light blinked green and when it wasnt the light was yellow. So I made sure I was touching firestick with IR point on remote and it worked perfectly. It may take some patience but it works see less Yes it will.
