How to send photo from messenger to email

Facebook members use the social network to connect with friends through status updates, comments and shared photos. Members are staying connected throughout the day using computers, mobile phones and tablets. To accommodate a variety of user preferences and technologies, Facebook has created several options for photo sending. Whether you prefer to upload, email or text your photos, you can share them within the Facebook site, or externally, in just a few clicks.

Send Photos Via Upload

  1. Log in to your Facebook account using your email address and password.

  2. Select the “Add Photo/Video” link that appears near the top of any page. To send one photo, click the “Upload Photo/Video” option to select a photo from your computer or mobile device and click the “Browse” button to locate and choose your photo. To send multiple photos from your computer, click the “Create An Album” option and follow prompts to select multiple photos.

  3. After photo selection, use the drop down menu in the lower-right corner of the dialogue box to set photo privacy to “Public,” “Friends,” “Only Me” or “Custom,” or select a friend list if you’ve set up that feature. Click “Post” to send the photo(s).

Send Photos Via Facebook Mobile Web Email

  1. Go to m.facebook.com and log in to your Facebook account.

  2. Click the “Photo” option that appears under the status update field at the top of any page. Find your unique “Post-By-Email” address, which appears below the “Post It By Email” heading.

  3. Open your email application and follow prompts to compose a new email. Enter your unique “Post-By-Email” address in the recipient field and include a photo caption in the subject line, if desired. Send the email.

Send Photos Via Text

  1. Activate your mobile device if you haven’t already done so. Log in to your Facebook account and click the “Account Settings” option that appears in the drop down menu under the triangular symbol at the top of any page. Click the “Mobile” link in the left column and follow prompts to add a phone, which include composing a text message and receiving a confirmation code.

  2. Access the text message function from your mobile device. Compose a message containing the desired photo and enter “32665” in the recipient field.

  3. Include a photo caption in the subject line, if desired, and send the photo.

Facebook does not offer an option to affix a photo in its email message box so that the picture automatically appears in each email you send, as of August 2011. However, Facebook does include a feature where you can attach more than one photo to your outgoing messages, but you must re-attach the photos each time you send an email. The photos must be stored in your computer so you can attach them.

  1. Log in to your Facebook account.

  2. Click on the "Messages" icon -- it's a picture of two caption boxes -- on the upper left-hand side of the screen.

  3. Click on the blue "Send a New Message" link that appears in the drop-down menu.

  4. Enter the name of the friend you want to send the email to in the To field.

  5. Type the body of your message in the Message field.

  6. Click on the paperclip icon located beneath the Message field. The words "Attach a File" will appear.

  7. Locate the photo on your computer that you want to attach. A window to your desktop will automatically open and allow you to search your files.

  8. Click on the name of the photo and click the blue "Open" button to attach the photo to the message.

  9. Repeat Steps 6, 7 and 8 for each photo you want to attach.

  10. Click the blue "Send" button.

Hello Happy2021,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! We understand you are looking for some steps on how to move some messages from an app to your email or Photos app. We are happy to provide some guidance.

To start, you may be able to copy and paste those messages from Messenger in to an email. To do that, you would just lightly press and hold on the message you wish to copy until you get some options that appear on your screen. You would then tap where it says "Copy" to copy it to your clipboard. You then would be able to go into Mail or any other app you wish to paste the message in to, then tap on the field where you input text, and tap the "Paste" option.

Alternatively, you can take screenshots on your iPhone to capture what is displaying on your iPhone screen and save it as a picture. Take a look at this helpful article that goes over how to take screenshots on your iPhone:

We hope this information helps.

Cheers.
