I love these Torras cases and have been using them on my Plus / Max sized iPhones for years. I’ve gone through almost all of the minimalist cases on Amazon and am certain that these are my favorite ones. Background: I’m a office worker with slightly larger than average hands who keeps his phone in his pant’s front pocket. Given the size of the Plus / Max phones, I don’t bother with chunkier cases (e.g. Otterbox) as they’re uncomfortable to pocket, awkward to handle, and usually pretty ugly. I’ve tried more moderate cases but they’re always a bit too bulky to pull out of a pocket while seated and make an already large phone feel unnecessarily larger. Truth be told, I bought an Apple leather case with my new phone but I just ditched it for one of these because of how much more I prefer the minimal experience. Design: these cases are exceptionally slim, come in attractive colors, and clip on your phone beautifully. There’s no branding or unnecessary textures which is how I like it. The finish is a smooth matte but not slippery so it slides in and out of a pocket well while being easy to hold. The surface resists fingerprints and scratches quite well so it stays looking nice. When in the hand, the case doesn’t add appreciable size or weight leaving a good balance to the phone. Fits in a pocket well and don’t pinch when you sit down. Functionality: solid all around. The lightning port properly aligns and is tapered so it’s unlikely to conflict with your other accessories. The speaker cutouts are positioned well and seem unobtrusive to audio. The button covers are responsive if maybe a little on the stiff side. The protective lips that come around the edges of the screen leave enough room for install of an edge to edge screen protector which, when installed, line up beautifully with the case edges. Heat transfers well enough during fast charging and heavy use but it can get warm. I’ve seen no impact to any wireless signal or wireless charging functionality. Protection: shock protection is solid considering how slim it is with my experience over the years showing coverage of minor to moderate drops as well as scuffs and dings. As noted, the case wraps the phone protecting the edges and has lips / ridges to cover anything that sticks out (read: buttons and lenses) so a tumble is less likely to do you in. On older models, I found the bridge above the lighting port to be a weakness but it looks improved in this iteration. Overall, I trust this case to protect my device during every day use. Wants: my only wish for this case is that the company will offer it in more colors. Personally, I’d love a brilliant yellow but, failing that, anything brighter than the what’s available right now. Of course, I am content with the blue color I purchased but the real allure of the Apple cases is the bright color pops and I’d love to have that in this form factor. All in all, this case ticks all the boxes I have while having no dealbreakers. Very hard to find in these ultra-slim cases. TLDR: used this line for years on all my Plus / Max phones and have yet to find anything else that meets the intersection of design, usability, and protection better. Highly recommend.
