Is there going to be a new spiderman

According to Cosmic Circus, Sony and Marvel Studios are reportedly in discussions to release Spider-Man’s next solo Marvel Cinematic Universe adventure on July 12, 2024, which would place Spider-Man 4 near the end of Phase 5. While another MCU film, Thunderbolts, is currently set to release two weeks after that Spider-Man 4 date, Marvel has adjusted its release schedule in the past to fit in the web-slinger's solo films as Sony reportedly has the final say on when new Spider-Man films will hit theaters.

A fourth Spider-Man film was confirmed to be in development in Dec. 2021, with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige promising fans that there will be no "separation trauma like what happened after Far From Home," which saw Sony and Disney temporarily part ways after the two companies failed to come to agreements on a new deal. While plot details remain scarce, Spider-Man 4 is rumored to be a street-level story that could be set in "the aftermath of Daredevil: Born Again." Cosmic Circus has also stated that No Way Home's symbiote suit tease in the post-credits scene will not factor into Spider-Man 4 but will instead be saved for one of the two upcoming Avengers films.

Spider-Man 4 Might Feature a New Cast

Sony chairman Tom Rothman has previously stated that he is hoping to reassemble the cast from the MCU's first Spider-Man trilogy for the next wave of Spider-Man films. However, Jacob Batalon, who stars as Peter Parker's best friend Ned Leeds in the MCU, recently explained that he is unsure if he'll return for more web-slinging adventures. "I feel like actors are the last people to know. I think that people assume that actors are always hiding secrets. I promise you, we don't know anything," he said in October 2022. "But again, if it's the right place, at the right time, with the right group of people that we've been with, I would say, why not? But other than that, whatever happens, happens. Really, those decisions are up to the big bosses, the people who sign the checks. We're open to the idea, but we're not hoping for it."

Spider-Man 4 is one of several Marvel movies Sony is currently developing for the big screen. The studio is in post-production on Kraven the Hunter, starring Taylor-Johnson as the titular Spider-Man foe, and is in the final weeks of filming Madame Web, which is set to feature several Spider-related characters. A third Venom film and El Muerto are also in the early stages of development. Sony's animation division is also putting the finishing touches on Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the upcoming sequel to 2018's award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

What is the Spider-Man 4 release date? Spider-Man: No Way Home has finally swung into theatres after a myriad of delays. We’ve now seen Spidey (Tom Holland) face the perils of the infinite multiverse and battle a collection of deadly enemies. Inevitably, though, insatiable fans have already started wondering when, and indeed if, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s version of Wallcrawler will return.

To be fair, fans and journalists were already unsure if No Way Home would be the final outing for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man before the movie was even out. Comments from the cast and crew, though, suggest that while Spidey may be bloodied and bruised following his last big-screen outing, he’s not just done yet.

While nothing’s confirmed yet, we can’t see Sony – which has been laying the groundwork for more Spider-Man movies – and Disney not making more action movies featuring Tom Holland as the Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man. So we’ve scoured the web (pun not intended) to bring you everything we know about the Spider-Man 4 release date, cast, and more.

Spider-Man 4 release date speculation

Spider-Man 4 hasn’t been officially greenlit yet, so it doesn’t have a release date. It didn’t even get a mention during Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con panel. Still, Amy Pascal, one of the producers on Holland’s trilogy of Spider-Man films, has said they want to make more, although she’s been a bit back and forth on the whole matter.

Peters one, two, and three: Spider-Man actors ranked

“This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel – [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie,” Pascal told Fandango. “We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We’re thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go on to the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies.”

Kevin Feige has since backed Pascal up, telling The New York Times that conversations have already begun between Sony and Disney.  “Amy [Pascal] and I, and Disney and Sony are talking about [the next movie],” Feige explained. “Yes, we’re actively beginning to develop where the story heads next, which I only say outright because I don’t want fans to go through any separation trauma like what happened after Far From Home. That will not be occurring this time.”

Is there going to be a new spiderman

There is speculation that an untitled Marvel movie which is set for release on June 7, 2024, may be Spider-Man 4, but there’s a hole in that theory. That release date would put Spider-Man 4 slap bang in the middle of Captain America 4 and the Thunderbolts. Realistically we probably aren’t going to get another film featuring the Wallcrawler until at least 2024.

Capes and cowls: Best superhero movies

Tom Holland opened up about his own involvement in further Spider-Man movies and what stage of development this is in. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Holland said: “We’ve had conversations about the potential future of Spider-Man, but at the moment, they are conversations. We don’t know what the future looks like.”

The young actor went on to say he was confident Marvel and Sony heads were “thinking of something” but that he isn’t aware of what that is. He also admitted he is “not really thinking about the future” and is simply “riding the wave of the success” of No Way Home. That is a wave which could continue for a while, with the film raking it in at the box office.

 Spider-Man 4 plot speculation

We imagine that the film will pick up after the dramatic events of No Way Home and that post-credit scene, but you never know.

One person who has an idea of where the series might go next is Holland. He recently told Fandom he’s pitched Sony an idea for a potential fourth Spider-Man movie but wouldn’t say any more for fear of ruining No Way Home.

Into the multiverse: Best adventure movies

“There is one idea that I have that I have pitched to the studio, he explained. “But by telling you that idea, I’d be ruining [No Way Home], so I’m going to have to keep that one for myself.”

During the same interview, he was asked about potential Spider-Man villains he’d like to battle, and he suggested Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin and Madame Web, which is very interesting because she’s not traditionally a villain.

Not my Spider-Man: Alternate versions of Spider-Man

Vincent D’Onofrio himself, who is now officially canon in the MCU after appearing in Hawkeye, has spoken about his desire to take on the web-slinger. During an interview with The Sarah O’Connell Show, the actor said: “I think that would be really, really fun. I want it as much as everybody does, so we’ll see.”

With D’onofrio set to appear in Daredevil season 4, we wouldn’t be surprised to see him again, and a future Spider-Man film is the obvious fit.

Through the multiverse: Marvel movies in order

There have also been a number of rumours surrounding Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds. A number of publications want to know if he’ll play the Marvel villain Hobgoblin in a future Spidey movie, but in an interview with Variety, he refused to be drawn on it.

“From all my years of working for Marvel, I feel like I’ve learned to just not say anything,” he said. “I can’t really speak on things and then say something that might actually be true, and then I ruin something, you know what I mean?”

Spider-Man 4 trailer speculation

Nope. It’s not even been greenlit yet, let alone started filming. We’re so far away from a trailer we’re not even going to hazard a guess as to when it might be released.

Spider-Man 4 cast speculation

Again nothing’s been confirmed yet, but it was recently reported that Marvel and Sony are keen to reunite the winning team behind the first trilogy. That means bringing back Holland, Zendaya, and director Jon Watts.

Pascal has joked in the past with GQ that she wants to make hundreds of Spider-Men movies starring Holland and even said he’s everything Sony was looking for in a Peter Parker.

Holland’s been a little reluctant to discuss whether he’ll return to the franchise out of fear of spoiling No Way Home, although he recently told Fandom he wasn’t ruling anything out.

The future! Best time travel movies

“You know, there is a future for Spider-Man — whether I’m a part of it, I don’t know,” Holland explained. “It’s been an incredible journey so far, and if it’s time for me to hang up the cape and let the next person take over, I will do that proudly, knowing that I’ve achieved everything that I wanted to in this world.”

The fact he’s pitched an idea to Sony and Marvel, though, suggests that if he had his way, he would continue playing Spidey. That said, he has also admitted he doesn’t want to be playing the Wallcrawler when he’s in his thirties, so Sony had best get its skates on. In November 2022 there were stirrings online that Holland has indeed signed a new deal which will see him play Spider-Man in a new trilogy.

Is there going to be a 4th Spider

As mentioned above, Spider-Man 4 might be in development, but doesn't yet have a release date confirmed. As with anything Marvel or Marvel-adjacent, rumours abound. Until there's something confirmed, however, we will steer clear of the unsubstantiated whispers.
