First time attempting an install like this and it was challenging so prepare to spend some time. It took me about 12 hours with removal of old top and install of new - I removed frame completely from the car to have more room since it’s a tiny Miata. Yes the item matched description, but doesn’t match what was taken off. No didn’t meet expectation. I will say it is on the car and looks ok but it is so tight the top won’t close. Please allow the top to sit under the sun for a few hours for the material to soften up and then slowly close it. What you are describing it totally normal, the top is supposed to be tight or else it would flop around on the freeway. What is a rain rail Miata top?Rain rails are a molded piece of plastic, which can only be seen when the top cover is off the top frame. It is not visible under normal circumstances. The purpose of the rain rail is to keep water from getting into the trunk of your car. They are attached to the bottom of the top, underneath the rear window.
