I have a new 21 M3HT purchased on Oct 8th. On the 8th of November and again last night, Dec 14th, I have gotten a warning that states, "Mazda Cruise Control is unavailable at speeds under 20mph." However, the cruise control still works while this is showing, but the other thing that happens is the auto high beam stays on. The first time it happened it did this every few minutes in a 30 min drive, but the next day it was fine. Last night, it started again, but cleared up a short time into the drive, and today it's fine. Any ideas? Any TSB that covers this? Should I bring it to the dealer?

Sounds normal.. I get this form time to time on both my cars I have a Mazda 3 turbo and a G70 they both more less give the same error.. your camera is likely fogged up or something blocking or blurring your cameras view.
I believe the owners manual has this info too.

But if the cruise control still actually works, how could it be the camera fogging? And what about the auto high beam being in the on position until it clears?

The camera and radar work in tandem for Curse Control. And the auto high beams use the camera as well and if the camera is fogged up can cause the high beams to come on even when on coming traffic. Weather has a huge effect on these safety system's regardless of the manufacture. I've have seen the same issues in almost every brand of car..

It definitely has been during weather that these problems arise... Which seem counter productive as it's during these times when you woukd hope to rely on this technology the most.

When the camera (behind the rearview mirror) does occasionally fog, especially when it is humid and you don't have the AC on or have recirculation on. I've noticed lately that even though I have both the AC on and recirculation off, the windows are fogged when I come back to the car after it's been parked a while. The other thing is the camera area seems to fog up before the rest of the windshield sometime.

All that to say, when the camera fogs over in mine it triggers the wipers in auto to try to clean the camera view. It also doesn't accurately dim the high beams because the camera can't distinguish cars. Note that the high beam program looks for sets of lights or cars, not just bright spots. From what I have observed of it.

The reason radar cruise keeps working is because it's predominantly radar and the without a working camera for redundancy it won't operate below 20mph. I also assume when in radar cruise control the system uses the camera under 20mph to see pedestrians and other smaller objects that radar wouldn't see as well.

I typically get this error when the system knows the camera area is dirty or if the sun is shining at just the right angle to cause a glare on the camera.
If you wanted to fix or mitigate this then clean your windshield regularly with a microfiber towel and use AC/defogger setting with the air conditioner.

Thanks for the info. I will make note of the condition of the window, should it happen again. However, it's winter here so no AC. But, the windows can fog, but the first time it happened, I'm sure I would have defogged the windows as I normally do, but it kept warning me intermittently during a 30 minute drive.
