Speaking to Digital Spy and others during a panel at San Diego Comic-Conover the weekend, Demetriou shared her experience filming such an outrageous scene, which was directed by Yana Gorskaya. It was the last thing I filmed and it was absolutely incredible," Demetriou said. "Matt was improvising loads of stuff when he was actually pretending to drown and I was really confused in the moment whether I was actually killing him or if he was acting but, of course, he’s a professional and he can swim so he wasn't drowning. But it was amazing." Demetriou continued: "And Yana was like directing it up above and hearing your director shout notes down at you while you're in a pool was an experience I'll never have again." The next episode airs on July 26, while the 10-episode season is set to conclude on September 6. Fifth and sixth seasons of the hit mockumentary series have already been ordered. The first three seasons were all released to critical and fan acclaim alike. So far, the show, which is based on the 2014 mockumentary movie of the same name, has amassed a whopping 17 Emmy nominations, including a 2022 nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series. What We Do in the Shadows was previously nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2020, but lost out to Schitt's Creek.
