Surgisil Permalip Implant Silicone Lip Augmentation

Serving clients near Mansfield, Arlington, Fort Worth & Dallas, Texas

Mansfield Cosmetic Surgery Center is proud to provide Surgisil Permalip Implant, otherwise known as lip silicone augmentation, to our clients living near Mansfield, Arlington, Dallas, and Fort Worth.  This is a great procedure for patients who have been using lip fillers like Juvederm® or Restylane® for years but are interested in a more permanent option. PermaLip implants are made of soft silicone and the procedure is performed under local anesthesia in about 45 minutes in our office.  The Permalip implant has been featured on “The Doctor’s” show.

How do I know which implant is the right size for me?

The Surgisil Permalip Implant™ is available in a variety of sizes to accommodate the uniqueness of your individual lip anatomy. During your consultation, Dr. Michael L. Thornton will measure each of your lip lengths and determine the most appropriate sizes for you. There are three separate diameter sizes (3mm, 4mm, and 5mm) and each implant comes in three separate lengths (55mm, 60mm, and 65mm) for a total of nine possible choices.

What if I want to have the implant(s) removed?

Although the PermaLip implant is designed to remain “permanent”, under specific circumstances, it may be removed should a person wish to return to their original appearance.

What should I expect immediately post-operatively?

You should expect post-operative lip swelling, bruising, and tenderness with the majority of bruising and swelling resolving after the first week. Over the course of 7-10 days following the procedure, your lip swelling will resolve. Results are individualized.

Is the Permalip procedure painful?

Dr.  Thornton will perform the procedure using local anesthesia and facial nerve blocks. Acute discomfort usually resolves after the first 1-2 days with the use of prescribed pain medication, ice, and elevation.

When will I be able to see my results?

It may take several weeks to see your results. However, the operative site will be swollen for the first few days following the procedure. As the swelling subsides you will begin to see your final result. Results are individualized.

Lip Augmentation

This 30-year-old woman requested lip augmentation. Dr. Kass placed the Perma Facial Implant in each lip as a minor office procedure. The improvement was almost immediate, and the results were perfect. Within a week, she had achieved a fuller, sensual, natural appearing lip augmentation. The patient was thrilled. She says that her boyfriend is very happy with them and is unable to feel them even when he kisses her. Best of all? The improvement is permanent!

This 40-year-old woman presented initially to me for Botox injections to her forehead and to her Crow’s feet. During these treatments, she confided to me that she “hated” the thinness of her lips. After hearing of the benefits of Silikon 1000, which is perhaps the ideal facial filler, she elected to proceed with this procedure. She was drawn to Silikon 1000 by the fact that the results were permanent! After three treatments, the patient proclaimed she was astonished at her results and how natural she looked and felt.  This highly satisfied patient continues to come for Botox injections and for Latisse. Every single time she comes in she proclaims loudly that she absolutely “loves” her lips and gets frequent compliments about them. She confides that she doesn’t tell anyone what she did to make her lips so beautiful as it is no one’s business but her own.

This 46-year-old woman was unhappy with the eyelid surgery, browlift, and chin implant performed by another physician. The patient was thrilled with the Revision Dr. Kass performed for her and now returns yearly for lip augmentation with Restylane.

This very attractive 40 year old patient came to see me complaining of lack of fullness in her lips. Although her lips were not as thin as some, after hearing her options she requested additional lip augmentation with Silikon 1000, one of Dr. Kass’ specialties. This photo is after just one treatment! She wanted permanent results without surgery, and said, “This is just what I was looking for, my lips are PERFECT!”

This stunning 26 year old works in the beauty industry. She grew tired of paying for injections of the standard fillers used to fill lips, complained that they didn’t last nearly as long as advertised, and wanted something which would last longer. After some research, she learned about Silikon 1000 and the Kass Center. Silikon 1000 is not FDA approved as a filler but Dr. Kass uses it off label to produce incredible, lasting results. The patient is advised that one “builds up” to the desired level of augmentation. Here she is after having just two treatments of Silikon 1000 at the Kass Center. Amazing results, don’t you agree?

This delightful, now mother of FOUR (gasp) wanted very, very big (and beautiful) lips. When she was a mother of two, she presented requesting lip implants. After speaking with Dr. Kass, she elected to proceed with the nonsurgical Silikon 1000 injections. She says that she now gets compliments about her lips all of the time, is very happy with the choice that she made, and is absolutely ecstatic that the results of her Silikon 1000 injections are PERMANENT!

This patient is a young lady who was tired of getting traditional HA fillers and wanted a long lasting solution to fuller lips. Dr. Kass treated this patient with Silikon 1000, a permanent lip filler that stimulates collagen and creates fullness. This is the result after a single treatment, multiple treatments may be needed to achieve desired result. The outcome is a natural, smooth augmented appearance of the lips that is permanent.

How long does PermaLip implants last?

Depending on the treatment you choose, your results will likely last anywhere from three months to five or more years. Permanent lip fillers, done through the use of implants, have the most long-lasting effects. On the other hand, collagen-based fillers can last you four months at most.

How long do silicone lip implants last?

Lip filler augmentation is a quick procedure that you can even do over your lunch break. The patient can go home the day of the procedure. The cost of the procedure ranges from $600 to $800 per syringe. Since lip fillers only last six to eight months, lip filler augmentation is only a semi-permanent solution.

Can you feel PermaLip implants?

Since permalip uses silicone as opposed to filler, the implant will not look or feel as natural to you. “Solid implants will always feel different from natural tissue, whereas injectables can usually be done in a way that feels totally natural,” explains Dr. Rivkin.

How long does perma lip last?

Lip implants provide permanent lip augmentation, versus lip fillers or lip injections which provide temporary results of 6 months to 1 year. Lip implant surgery is a relatively simple 30-60-minute procedure which can take place in your doctor's office under local anesthesia.
