6. Those things look like about as much bad sound as you could ever cram in a box that size.

   This person is an idiot with balsa for a floor obviously, and if those things go much lower than 50 cycles I'll blow you.

7. I found a dusty worn out pair of old shoes made out of compressed cardboard with no arches in granny's moldy basement. They suck, but do you have a pair? Course not. They're very rare.

8. Back in the early 80's I bought a pair of the CS-703s. They had the single tweeter instead of the double. Same thing, just a tweeter less, and I believe a little lower wattage rating.

   They really did sound good. Surely not what a pair of Cerwin Vega sounded, or Advents, but they did sound better than a lot of other speakers that were for sale at the time.

   In the price range, they were hard to beat. I compaired them to about 15 other speakers they had in the same price range there in the base BX, and these hands down did tehm all in...

   I think people are too quick to toss a towel in when they see the 80's silver... Unless you have personally heard a pair, how can you knock something.

   Would I buy a pair today? NO, UNLESS, for the price range, I would have to buy something new. I would want these over most of the new stuff of comperable cost.. BUT.. now I can afford better, so I do.. but I would suggest these to someone looking for a good speaker, especially for rock and roll, that was on a small budget.

   Interestingly, lost year I stumbled on a pair at a friends house.. and they sounded just like I remember... not too bad.. for sure better than a lot of crap out there for sale today..

10. ... These retailed for near $300.00 when new and were worth it. Top of the line Pioneer stuff. ... ... were these really Pioneer's TOTL in the '80s? ... at that price point, it seems that they would be top of their Budget Line.

11. If I remember right, that $300 was each.. seems I paid like $175 or $200 for each of my speakers. They sold speakers as singles back then, as some companies still do today. I bought one speaker on one payday, and two weeks later I went back and bought the second... I didn't have much money, and these things were a hell of an expensive investment for me at 17.

    Pioneer was doing as a lot of other companies, and cheapening manufacturing costs, so not sure if this was their TOTL or not, but I know a lot of GI's bought them too... they were pretty popular there on the base I was on in Germany.

15. By the way: look at his other items for sale. Pair of Acoustic Audio speakers. "they sound better than the comparable set of 3-way JBL's and just as good as the 3-way Cerwin Vegas that I have recently sold"

17. Ha, I have a pair of 703's, and I really Like em. Have em hooked up to a SX-3700, I have them with a pair of Realistic Mach Ones. I would never get rid of em. Like you said, there not advents or cerwin vegas, but I want a pair of 903s!

I have pair of these they have horn loaded ribion tweeters a large mid-range and 15inch driver and comparing them to my akai 175s pioneer Cs 99 and ar-5s I can tell you one thing if they sound bad am happy with bad and I'll tell anyone if u get a chance to grab up a pair I would suggest you do so this things sound flat out amazing they take my 120wpc yahama without breaking a sweat and sound amazing at all volume levels and I can say hands down they sound better than any speaker mentioned above. they are detailed and transparent airy or really airy if u set them to crisp and the Vu meters are just a nice touch u don't and won't every see again. Don't let some punk hipster snob who wouldn't know shit but what some other snob told him tell u anything I have had alot of speakers and these are some good ones. they also sound amazing on my 7027 75w monoblocks and my ultralinear knights at 40wpc and even my 20w quad 6v6 Maggie monoblocks so yeah no matter how I listen these things sound good damn good haters can hate but I don't care what it is. If it sounds good I'll tell u the truth.
