Reddit iphone 13 vs iphone 13 pro

I’ve had both and now own the Max.

Dynamic 120hz is cool but it’s not a big deal in my opinion if you’ve never used it for a few weeks then switched back I doubt many will care.

The 13’s I’ve experienced had around equal to slightly better battery life than the Pro. Both Pros feel better in the hand. Peak brightness is irrelevant, unless you’re watching HDR video it’s not worth talking about.

I prefer the Max over both the better battery and big screen feel like a true upgrade coming from say a 12 or even an 11. The 11’s downside was the IPS screen it uses didn’t have any backlight control.

13 vs Pro I’d go for the Pro personally but if you don’t care about the extra camera or 120hz screen go 13.

I'm not fan of phones because I always go work on computer/ laptop, by that I mean I dont usually use a phone all the time and "battery time" wont be problem to me

I'm thinking of buyin iphone 13 instead of pro but I dont know if it right decision to pay for it

Its my first time to think of buying an apple phone, I have macbook and planning to start an apple ecosystem instead of owning android phone

I want to use it for calls and media stuff, not fan of taking pictures but I do that so often + IOS system is interesting

So what to you recommend Iphone 13 or pro?

A couple of months back I made a comparison between the 13 Pro and the 13 mini, you can find it here: link text

I put both phones side by side for few weeks, in order to understand if it was worth for me switching from a 13 Pro to a 13 Mini. In my conclusion I opted to keep the 13 pro as a daily driver.

But I felt like something was wrong as I was keeping both phones every day with me, so I started to pick up a phone and leaving the other home. One week with the Pro and one week with the Mini.

I ended up selling the 13 Pro and keeping the Mini which is more than enough for me.

  • Battery habit

I’m an avid photographer and a power user, so the Mini battery wasn’t just enough, but I didn’t consider it’s such a small battery and charges fast. Basically I solved the ‘battery issue’ by plugging the phone into my car, my laptop and even without fast charging I get home with enough juice left for my needs. With the 13 Pro I was in the habit of never recharging the phone during the day, which is by all means convenient yet I made the mistake of trying to do the same with the 13 Mini.

  • I miss ProRaw and Lightroom editing and I miss the telephoto and Macro mode. On the other hand the portrait mode on the Mini delivers decent results and instead of switching from the 24 to the 70mm I just move closer to the subject. Not the same result but I found out I can live with it.

  • Going back from a 120hz panel to the 60hz was quite difficult in the beginning, but after two weeks I can’t see any difference.

The 13 Mini represents the most beautiful compromise Apple created from the good old times of iPhone 5 form factor. But it has all the whistles and belts of a high end phone.

The Ultra Wide and Wide cameras are as amazing as the ones on the Pro. I can fit it in my pocket and forget it’s there…. After changing few habits I sold the Pro and kept the Mini.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Update:

I forgot to mention that my dream would be Apple creating an iPhone Mini, in the near future, packing a telephoto lens and macro mode. Hopefully with modern batteries, and more efficient led panels, we might be able to see a Mini Pro sometime down the line… That would be the a good reason to upgrade!

I made the switch to Apple with the iPhone 13 Pro Max. I came from years of Android use, but my last phone was the OnePlus 9 Pro. I loved the size and feel of the OnePlus 9, so I figured I would want the size of the Max. Well after 4 months, I grew to hate the Max. Constantly having to do 2 hand maneuvers to reach the top of the phone, and the weight would get uncomfortable after only a short amount of time. The one thing that kept me from switching was the battery. Geezz that thing is a beast and I had no chance of draining it in a day. I finally got fed up with it though, and found a good deal on a 13 Pro on marketplace and snagged it. I've been using it for a couple weeks now and WOW do I wish I had gone this route to begin with. Yes, the battery is noticeably worse, but I can still easily get a full day out of it. The decreased screen size has had no impact whatsoever, and the phone is just more comfortable in the hand. Honestly if the Max was a little less wide, and had rounded edges it would probably have stayed my phone, but since Apple is going with the squared slab style, the Pro is the size to go.

Reference I'm 6'5", so I have larger than average hands, still hated the Max! Bigger isn't always better... ;)

Edit: Here's the battery life of the 13 Pro.. Still lasts a full day of use for me easily, just won't last that 2nd day in the event I forget to charge it at night like the Pro Max can.

Is the 13 pro better then the 13?

Since both models actually share a large majority of their features, including design, the OLED Super Retina XDR display, 5G connectivity, the A15 Bionic chip, and MagSafe charging, we would recommend the iPhone 13 over the Pro model, unless you are in need of a more advanced camera or increased storage.
