My wife's 2017 Cherokee started doing it months ago here & there, then one day the damn Jeep wouldn't start. Turned out to be a dead battery.......at only 45,000 miles! I changed it, & now just a few weeks later the light just popped back up along with the check engine light. Anyone have any thoughts here? I'm guessing it's a non-warranty issue? Thanks! 11-08-2019, 04:10 PMMember

I'd still go to the dealer and make sure there isn't an excessive power draw. 11-11-2019, 08:04 AMMember

If he replaced the original battery with a non-AGM battery then it is no surprise that it failed quickly. But since he hasn’t been back since he first posted he won’t have seen these responses. What does it mean when your Jeep says stopI believe the system monitors battery level, and if insufficient you'll get the message "unavailable". drive a bit battery gets full & start/stop becomes available.
What does it mean to service startA vehicle start-stop system or stop-start system automatically shuts down and restarts the internal combustion engine to reduce the amount of time the engine spends idling, thereby reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
What does stop/start warning light mean? The Auto Start Stop warning light will illuminate in yellow if you open the engine hood when the engine has been temporarily stopped by the Auto Start Stop system. In this case, to ensure safety, the engine will not be automatically restarted, even if you release the brake pedal.
