For those who dare, we’ve spotted plenty of spooky-themed days out across the UK, including Legoland, Cadbury World, Drayton Manor and Warwick Castle with freaky face painting, bewitching creatures and spooky storytelling.

Take a look at our top 20 favourite Halloween inspired days out across the UK in 2021.  Many of the attractions listed below are subject to availability so the earlier you book the better, plus many have early booking discounts.  Alternatively another great value option is to convert your Tesco Clubcard points into attraction tickets.

1. Cadbury World  Freddo’s Circus Spectacular- 15th – 30th October 2022

At Cadbury World, come dressed in your best costumes to visit Freddo’s Circus Spectacular.  Roll up! Roll up! The spookiest circus in town is coming to Cadbury World! You’ll be ‘howling with laughter’ as we meet the Fangtastic Freddo, astounded by the ‘spookiest spells’ of the Great Fredeedo and amazed by the ‘frightfully fun’ skills of Daredevil Freddo! You’d be a ghoul to miss out!

2. Edinburgh Zoo Spooktacular – 7 – 31st October

This HalloweenEdinburgh Zoo is opening its gates after dark to invite you on a family friendly spooktacular trail through the zoo.  

This Halloween, Edinburgh Zoo Spooktacular! returns with a new series of family-friendly frights. Follow along our trail and meet some weird and wonderful characters along the way. We SCARE you to come and brave our illuminated trail from Friday 7 – Monday 31 October.  

From pirates and dragons to skeletons and ghosts, there’s plenty to get you into the Halloween spirit, as well as themed food and drink kiosks throughout.

3. Warwick Castle – The Haunted Castle from 1st – 31st October

Warwick castle is a great day out for children of all ages and during the Halloween event.  Search the spooky mansion, navigate the Haunted Hollows and discover even more quirky characters in their spellbinding shows and activities.

4. Alton Towers Scarefest is on the 7th – 9th, 14th – 31st October 2022

This Halloween celebrate 15 years of Scarefest. As the nights get longer, tiptoe into Alton Towers Resort for all sorts of creepy scares, shocks and thrills. Expect spines to be tingled!

Open until 9pm, daring guests can face head-spinning, hair-raising rides and attractions in the darkness including Wicker Man and the Alton Towers Dungeon.

5. BeWilderwood – The Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade 15th October to 31st October 2021.

Adventure through a magical light extravaganza and watch the story unfold as you journey through the woods down mysterious paths exclusive to this event.  

Start your adventure at dusk and craft your own Boggle Bindle Lantern to help the Boggles light up the woods at Hazel’s Hideaway, before embarking on a journey through BeWILDerwood like you have never seen before! Navigate your way through the beautifully lit twilight woodland and keep a look out for hints of the BeWILDerwood characters peering out to say ‘yoo-hoo!’ along the way. But don’t worry if you aren’t the bravest Boggle – it’s spoooky not scary!  

The best time to arrive is Midday to ensure you still have enough energy left for the Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade.

6. Brick or Treat at Legoland is 1st – 31st October 2022

We think this is one of the best Halloween events for kids in the UK.  For a short period of time the park is spookily decorated and Halloween themed. This October half term bring your little monsters to the LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort and get into the Halloween spirit with their Brick or Treat event.

Brick or Treat presents Monster Party, where the LEGO® Monsters are taking over at LEGOLAND® this October, including half term! They’re rocking up with an awesome Brick or Treat Monster Party to celebrate their fantastic new 4D Movie ‘The Great Monster Chase!’ and everyone’s invited. This Halloween spectacular will blow you away with amazing NEW experiences, live shows, fantastic LEGO decorations and lots of Monster mischief and so much more – plus all of our rides including the brand new land LEGO MYTHICA: World of Mythical Creatures, live shows and attractions, it’s a frightfully fun day out for all the family!

7. Warner Brothers Studio Tour London – 23rd September – 6th November 2022

With Harry Potter being a wizard what better place to visit this Halloween. You are able to relive the magic and witness the making of the Harry Potter films, view the original Hogwarts Express and look at many of the props and memorabilia used in the films.

Experience Hallowe’en as if you were a Hogwarts student, by stepping into the Great Hall with over 100 pumpkins floating above a spooky feast, as seen in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. During filming, the Propmaking Team carved the pumpkins each to have their own unique design

For the first time this year, visitors to the Studio Tour will discover the secrets behind the Riddikulus spell as a selection of props from Professor Lupin’s Defence Against the Dark Arts class will be on display, including the Boggart wardrobe and the Vulture hat donned by a Boggart in the shape of Professor Snape.

8. Black Country Living Musuem – 26th -29th October

Walk in the freaky footsteps of ghosts and ghouls this October at Black Country Living Museum’s Halloween Nights. Follow the trick or treat stations around our 26-acre site and along the way, discover the spooky spectacles we have in store.

Dance the night away at our Monster Bash, follow our story trail and meet some of our creepy creatures, all before strutting your stuff in our costume parade. Whether you’re a grown-up ghoul or a tiny terror, there’s plenty of fun for all the family at BCLM’s Halloween Nights.

9. Drayton Manor – More Trick than Treat

10. National Forest Adventure Farm Spooktacular 15, 16, 22 – 30 October

13. West Midland Safari Park’s Spooky Spectacular -22nd – 30th October 

Visit West Midland where it will be brimming with Halloween decorations and hundreds of pumpkins in their Pumpkin Patch.

Their excitable pumpkin-scarecrow character, ‘Patch’, will be returning during half term to greet guests and put on a fantastic show! This year, he has brought some magical pals along with him, including a friendly witch and wizard, cheeky dragons and even a silly skeleton.

Spooky explorers will need to help locate the missing potion ingredients in the free Scratchcard Trail, which have been stolen by some mischievous dragons. If they can find all the items, they will win a special treat!

14. Fright Fiesta at Gullivers World, Cheshire – 8th – 30th October 2022

15. Halloween at Blenheim Palace – Friday 21st – Monday 31st October 2022

If you’re after a spooky half term experience for all the family, visit Blenheim Palace from October 21 until October 31.

A spooky, fun-filled, after dark trail for all the family this half term – with new installations for 2022!

Watch out for flickering flames in a fiendish fire garden, daring fire artists and grinning pumpkins aglow. 17. Halloween Events at English Heritage, National Trust and CADW

Grab your broomsticks for a ghoulishly great day out at our Halloween events taking place across the country.

Need fiendish family fun to entertain your little monsters? Try our new adventure trail inspired by Cressida Cowell’s bestselling Wizards of Once series, or head out after dark on a spooky woodland walk.
