Triple lipid restore 2 4 2 dupe

You might have read a couple of months ago that I invested in a new skin care routine. It’s remained the same since then but I decided to see if I could find cheaper alternatives for some of the items. Rather than switch up my products all at once, I started by exploring to see if I could find a Skinceuticals Triple Lipid drugstore dupe. Spoiler alert: I think I did.

About a month ago I hit the bottom of my Triple Lipid stash. According to the internet, CeraVe Skin Renewing Night Cream would be a perfect dupe. At only roughly $16-$20 (depending on where you purchase), this is a fraction of the cost considering Triple Lipid is about $127. Saving $100 isn’t something to balk at. With some skepticism, I picked up a tub from Walgreens and started my experiment.

One month later and I’m pleasantly surprised. It is a very similar texture and consistency as Triple Lipid and I find it a bit easier to rub in. I’m sure there are some differences and I have yet to do a total ingredient investigation, but I haven’t noticed a major difference in my skin. Most days, my skin looks just as clear and hydrated as when I was using Triple Lipid and some days it looks even better.

Like with all skin care products, I’ll need to use it for a few more months to see if the results keep up and determine if it’s a permanent swap. The only downside I see at this point is the packaging – it’s definitely not as fancy as Skinceuticals, but you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.

Looking for a great night cream? Or maybe just on the hunt for the best Skinceuticals dupe? Either way, I’ve got you covered!

The other day I was scrolling through one of my favorite Facebook groups (Forever35, just FYI) and someone mentioned how much they love the SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2. They shared an empty tub and I clicked the comments to see what other people said about it since I had never heard of it.

These products include affiliate links meaning purchases made through included links may result in my earning a small commission at no cost to you.

The comments ranged from “I love this stuff and wish I could afford it!” and “This is the best moisturizer I’ve ever used”, to people saying their facialist had recommended it, etc. This piqued my interest mostly because I was curious about how much this “miracle” cream cost! Turns out it’s $128 for a 1.6 oz jar. Wow!

SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2

On Dermstore.com this product has about 350 reviews listed and about 320 of them are 5 star reviews! So, what is this miracle cream, and are there any good (affordable!) dupes?

The SkinCeuticals cream is an anti-aging moisturizer designed to replenish the nutrients your skin needs to look more full and even. It’s also supposed to help with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. (Something that is more important to me the older I get!)

A quick Google search lead me to articles on the amazing-ness of this product (One 39 year-old woman said after using this product for a few weeks she got carded trying to order a drink at a restaurant…) and people seem to looooove it.

But. It’s not in my budget to spend $128 on a face skin so I thought I’d see what other products people who have tried it recommend as being a good dupe!

Want a Skinceuticals Dupe? Try these!

1. CeraVe Skin Renewing Night Cream ($13.99 for 1.7 oz)

It has some of the same ingredients – things like ceramides, which help restore your skin barrier, and peptides which help with those pesky lines and wrinkles. And for a tiny fraction of the SkinCeuticals cream, it might be a good option!

2. Avene Tolérance Extrême Cream ($26 for 1.6 oz)

The original author of the Facebook posting confessed that this cream was “quite as good” as the SkinCeuticals. Another good option!

I’d say most of my googling turned up the CeraVe cream being the closest duplicate people had found. So, now the question is, will you try it? Will I? We’ll see!

**5/26/2020 Update!! I’ve been using the CeraVe night cream for about four months now and I love it! I can see this being my nightly moisturizer for the foreseeable future. It’s lightweight but still very hydrating, leaves my skin soft and smooth and even with using it nightly I maybe have used up close to half the jar. Pretty great purchase and a good skinceuticals dupe I think!
