The Dallas Cowboys and the Denver Broncos get their 2022 NFL preseason schedules underway with a Week 1 clash in Colorado on Saturday evening.

Cowboys chasing long-awaited Super Bowl

For Dallas, who begin their NFL season at home to the Buccaneers on 9 September, the matchup with the Broncos marks the beginning of the Texas franchise’s latest bid to end a nearly 30-year championship drought.

The Cowboys won the last of their five Super Bowl titles back in the 1995 season.

Mike McCarthy’s men were top dogs in the NFC East division for the 21st time in 2021, but fell at the first hurdle in the Playoffs, losing to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card round.

Broncos out to end Playoff absence

Meanwhile, the Broncos are looking to reach the Playoffs for the first time since winning Super Bowl 50 in the 2015 season.

Denver, who brought in Russell Wilson as their starting quarterback in an offseason trade with the Seahawks, kick off their NFL campaign with a road game against Seattle on 12 September.
