Out of all the fake scenes from the past season openers I think that one is the most obvious. The writers made up that scene to juxtapose it with the usual craziness that happens in the opener and that's what makes it funny.

I honestly don't get why people want it in an episode, to me it would just take away from the original clip. I mean if you put that scene in an episode where Morty is golfing in other scenes then it's just another clip of Morty golfing, it loses all the context that made it funny in the first place.

Season 5 of Rick and Morty is polarizing. The gross factor was upped 1000 percent, lots of weird crazy things happening but not cool smart crazy things, but instead really dumb stupid crazy things, sub par kinda hammed in Evil Morty plot too.

I think they did this on purpose. I think they wanted to make a really dumb season just to get their worse ideas out of the way, so when they drop season 6 it blows our fucking minds. Holy shit, 6 seasons and fucking movie, dawg. It's happening, dawg.

Edit: I enjoyed season 5, I can appreciate it for what it is, but there was a definite change in tone this season that was far more silly, random, and overly gross than previous seasons, and I don't think the writers will continue this tone moving forward.
