The Wyoming Department of Agriculture assists the citizens of Wyoming to live safe and healthy lives, promote and preserve our agricultural community, be responsible stewards of our natural resources, and achieve integrity in the marketplace.
The WDA is comprised of six sections:
Administrative Services, Analytical Services (Chemistry & Microbiology Laboratories), Consumer Health Services, Natural Resources, Technical Services, and Wyoming State Fair.
The Wyoming Department of Agriculture is dedicated to the promotion and enhancement of Wyoming’ agriculture, natural resources and contribution to Wyoming quality of life.
Wyoming’s land use is almost half agricultural, at 48.6% with 30,169,526 acres.

Ever wondered what the USDA Seed Laboratory does to protect and store the worlds plant varieties, how to properly grow and save heirloom seeds or how to produce your own on farm nitrogen to fertilize your vegetables. These are just a few of the topics that will be covered at the November 11-12 "Farm to Market Conference" that will be held November 11-12 in Cheyenne at the Laramie County Community College CCI Building.

The use of weed free forage is an important invasive species prevention tool. Weed Free Forage products should be used to help prevent the introduction of weed seeds into new and susceptible areas. Examples are hay mulch for reclamation, and feed for horses and stock in the backcountry. On all National Forests, and BLM lands within several Wyoming counties, certified hay is required. In response to the many public requests for information on weed free forage and straw, the Wyoming Weed and Pest Council has developed an online map to help the public find available product.

| The Wyoming Department of Agriculture, Technical Services Division, is proposing new Chapter 56 Regulations.
The new Chapter 56 Regulations are primarily for the Gray Wolf Depredation Compensation Program to establish the amount of funds allocated for each year of the Program, outline how the damage awards will be prorated depending on the number of verified claims, and explain
the application process and requirements to qualify for gray wolf depredation compensation in the predator zone of Wyoming. Public comments on the proposed regulations may be submitted by 5:00 pm on or before September 1, 2016. A public hearing will be held if requested by 25 or more persons, by a governmental subdivision, or by an organization of 25 or more members. Written comments or request for a public hearing may be addressed to: Wyoming Department of Agriculture, Attn: Kent Drake, 2219 Carey Avenue, Cheyenne, WY 82002.
