These chocolate dipped pretzels are perfect for the holidays! They are decorated with fun colored sprinkles and other candy decorations.
Kids love to help decorate these pretzels and the finished pretzels make great little gifts. Simply place the pretzels in a holiday cellophane bag and tie with a colorful ribbon.
Chocolate covered pretzels have a perfect sweet and salty taste! I like to include these pretzels at all our holiday gatherings.

Key ingredients
- Pretzel rods
- Small pretzel twists
- Melting chocolate - milk chocolate, dark chocolate or white chocolate. Milk chocolate chips can also be used.
- Sprinkles
Step by step directions
- Melt chocolate in the microwave
- Dip pretzel rod into chocolate. Use a spoon to help cover the pretzel.
- Remove excess chocolate with spoon
- Sprinkle on colored sprinkles and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
- Allow pretzel to fully harden before removing
- For small pretzel twists, use a fork to lower the pretzel into the melted chocolate
- Gently tap the fork against the top of the glass to help remove the excess chocolate
- Add sprinkles
- To add white chocolate drizzle, allow milk chocolate to setup or harden first. Then dip a spoon into the melted white chocolate. Allow chocolate to drip from spoon while moving spoon back and forth over the pretzel
Tips for making chocolate covered pretzels
- Chocolate melting pieces work best for this recipe
- Chocolate chips can also be used. Add 1 tablespoon of shortening to the chocolate chips while melting.
- White chocolate chips do not melt and should not be used
- For easier clean up, use an extra cookie sheet as your work surface. This helps catch all the little sprinkles that like to go everywhere!
- Place finished pretzels on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper until chocolate has hardened

- ▢ 2 Cups semisweet melting wafers
- ▢ 24 whole pretzel rods
- ▢ 2 tablespoons sprinkles
Melt the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds at a time, stirring between each time.
2 Cups semisweet melting wafers
Continue heating for 30 seconds at a time until completely melted.
Spread chocolate on ⅔ of each pretzel rod.
24 whole pretzel rods
Sprinkle with colored sprinkles.
