For once in your life dont smash

Thor: Ragnarok is a fan favorite MCU film thanks to its quick-witted humor and incredible action scenes. Taika Waititi’s signature tone brought a breath of fresh air not only to the Thor franchise but the MCU as a whole. It all comes together to be an incredible story with some truly memorable and highly quotable lines.

However, since we can’t transcribe the whole movie in this article, we’ll have to share just a few of our favorites, from breakout star Korg to a Thor embracing his goofier side. Here are some of the best Thor: Ragnarok quotes to help prepare for the storm of new material that Thor: Love and Thunder will undoubtedly bring.

“Piss off, ghost!” – Korg

Korg, voiced by Taika Waititi himself, is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the movie, and it’s good to know that even if he doesn’t completely understand the situation, he’s always there to back up his friends.

Thor throws a rock, and Korg follows suit, throwing himself straight towards the “ghost” — a projected appearance of Loki. That’s what friends are for!

“Why are you handing me the melting stick? He was interrupting, that’s not a capital violation!” – The Grandmaster

For once in your life dont smash

Loki is eager to offer more information to The Grandmaster for a position of favor on Sakaar. Loki is so eager that he accidentally interrupts The Grandmaster.

Topaz, Grandmaster’s personal guard, immediately offers him the melting stick. Even he knows that that’s a bit extreme for something so small! It’s a good thing The Grandmaster is a reasonable man … or something like that.

“Hulk Stop! Just for ONCE in your life, DON’T Smash!” – Thor“BIG MONSTER!” – Hulk

For once in your life dont smash

Thor and the rest of the Asgardians unleash the horrifying, apocalyptic prophecy of Ragnarok on their once-great land, and Hulk finally has a fight where he can really let loose!

He’s devastated to have to leave before getting to go toe to toe with the big baddie. It’s a shame, but he reluctantly listens to Thor and Valkyrie. Even Hulk matures in this story!

“We know each other. He’s a friend from work!” – Thor

For once in your life dont smash

The charming backstory behind this quote only makes it even more enjoyable. When Thor finally gets to see The Grandmaster’s champion he is filled with complete delight, and so are we! Especially considering that Bruce Banner was last seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron, with no clear indication where the Quinjet would take him.

In the Contest of Champions, we get to see the reunion of two of the heaviest hitters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — but it’s clearly debatable who is the “Strongest Avenger.”

“I’m made of rocks, as you can see, but don’t let that intimidate you. You don’t need to be afraid, unless you’re made of scissors!” – Korg

Korg’s lines are always the most entertaining, and even he knows it! He likes to make light of difficult situations, but it’s his willingness to go with the flow and find the best part of every situation that makes him so endearing.

His rock-paper-scissors joke not only lets us know about his character’s demeanor right away, but sets up a hilarious joke payoff in the future too!

“There was one time my brother transformed himself into a snake, because he knows how much I like snakes, and so I picked the snake up to admire it, but then he turned back and went ‘AAHH! It’s me!’ And then he stabbed me.” – Thor

We never really get to see the sort of hijinks the God of Thunder and the God of Mischief got into when they were younger, but we can be sure that two brothers with such strong personalities were most certainly up to some ridiculous antics as they were growing up.

Since we don’t get to see their childhood, we really cherish the glimpses of the relationship these brothers have — especially all the tricks Loki liked to play on Thor.

“Tried to start a revolution but didn’t print enough pamphlets so hardly anyone turned up, except my mum and her boyfriend, who I hate.” – Korg

For once in your life dont smash

Remember when Korg introduced himself? He’s made of rocks, and you shouldn’t be afraid unless you’re scissors? The joke keeps going!

He didn’t print enough pamphlets. Papers beats rock! And that’s all buried beneath an already hysterical line. Just like an avalanche, Korg has plenty of layers.

“She’s too strong. Without my hammer, I can’t.” – Thor“Are you Thor, the God of Hammers?” – Odin

This movie is more than its comedy. We learn a lot about Thor as he matures through the film, and the sage advice that he receives from Odin helps him come into his true power.

Not only does it tell us more about Asgard’s tumultuous past, it gives Thor all the tools he needs to fight against his sister Hela and emerge victorious. But even Odin can’t resist giving his son a bit of attitude along with all that advice.

“Loki, I thought the world of you. I thought we were going to fight side-by-side forever, but at the end of the day, you’re you and I’m me. I don’t know, maybe there’s still some good in you. But let’s be honest; our paths diverged a long time ago.” – Thor

Throughout the films, we’ve seen Thor trust his brother again and again, only to encounter disappointment. He has put his neck out defending Loki even when there was no good reason to. He had faith in his brother, and continues to have faith!

But in Thor: Ragnarok, he learned better and their relationship finally evolved. They are brothers on different paths, but their care for one another continues through the devastation that follows in Avengers: Infinity War.

“Asgard is not a place. Never was. This could be Asgard. Asgard is where our people stand.” –Odin

The greatest revelation and greatest change that came from Thor: Ragnarok is that Asgard is more than just a physical place. Odin gives Thor the revelation that the location of the people doesn’t matter, just the people themselves!

They decide to leave the ancient land behind when it is consumed by Ragnarok. Asgard is moving forward, and we get a glimpse of New Asgard in Avengers: Endgame. Plus, we’ll see Valkyrie leading the New Asgardians as their king in Thor: Love and Thunder!
