How do you make a plastic key in the escapists

There are 5 different level keys in the game. Guards can carry one of the 5 versions of keys with them. Every key can unlock a different set of doors.

To steal the keys from guards you need to knock them out. An effective way to do so is using a cup of molten chocolate, as it can knock guard out in a single hit.

You can make copies of keys using Key Mold and then return the original key back to guard’s inventory so that when guard wakes up and sees that the key is missing you will not get sent to the solitary. You can also try to stash key in inmates desk, doing so will send you to the solitary, but the key will probably still be there once you come back.

Making plastic keys

It is possible to make plastic keys by duplicating the original keys using key mold. To be able to duplicate a key it requires 80 intelligence. Plastic keys can be used just like the original keys, however they only last half as long.

Based on the pre-game screen you can know which guards will have what kind of keys. Guard that roll calls has the Cell Key and guard that is beside him has the Utility key. Guard that follows prisoners(third guard from pre-game screen) has the Entrance Key. Fourth guard has the Staff Key and fifth has the Work Key. In most of the larger prisons only first five guards have keys.

Key list:

  1. Cell Key - Is used to unlock cells during the lights out time at night. The key is held by roll-call guard.
  2. Utility Key - Is used to get into utility areas, which often contain prisoner stashes.
  3. Entrance Key - Is used to access outdoors after 10PM or before 10AM.
  4. Staff Key - Is used to get past the fence gates and open staff-only areas.
  5. Work Key - Is used to open work rooms such as Laundry or Wood Shop.

HOW TO GET KEYS IN THE ESCAPIST 2 ON NINTENDO SWITCH

Given that you’re a prison inmate in The Escapists 2, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that doors to important areas are typically locked. If you’re wanting to access specific areas, you’re going to need a key. Different areas require different types of keys, but to get any of them, you’re going to have to steal them. Most of the time, a guards pocket is going to be your go-to method most of the time.

To steal one in Escapists 2, knock out the guard, try using either a Cup of Molten Chocolate or Makeshift Stungun and then quickly pinch his key. These weapons are capable of one-shotting the guards for a quick and easy steal. Once you have the key, you’ll need to copy it using a Wad of Putty. This is because if a guard discovers his key has been taken, you’re in big trouble and will be taking a trip to solitary. This applies to any keys stolen from desks in Escapists 2, too. Always copy the key. To do so, combine the key with the putty to make the mold, then the key mold with plastic mold to make a new plastic key.

The list of different keys in Escapists 2 is as follows:

  • Yellow – Cell Key – can open the cell and entrance which would normally be locked.
  • Orange – Utility Key – can open utility areas, which usually leads to ladders to the roof or ventilation shafts.
  • Purple – Entrance Key – can open the cell and entrance which would normally be locked.
  • Red – Staff Key – opens areas prisoners cannot access, such as the generator.
  • Green – Work Key – These keys can open work rooms, such as the janitor room (if you the associated job, you can access these areas without)

That’s everything you need to know about keys in The Escapists 2 on Nintendo Switch. For more information on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.

There are a lot of ways to sneak out of prison, but they all require a lot of planning. Unfortunately, digging a straight tunnel to freedom is one of the simplest but most long winded-solutions, however, on some future maps, reinforced concrete underground will prevent you from digging further so you'll have to plan around it, and on future maps, you may have as much as up to 20 guards, and a 20 guard prison takeover is, to underestimate drastically, pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard.

There are other solutions involving, but not limited to of course, grappling hooks, ziplines, stinger strips and escaping with a raft.
