You can change Verizon Wi-Fi name (SSID) or password (WPA2/WEP key) at any time. After applying the changes,

be sure to reconnect any Wi-Fi device with the same customized Verizon Wi-Fi network name and password.

  • If you have a Verizon Fios Advanced router or Fios Quantum Gateway, use the My Fios app and select:
    • Internet > click MY Networks select a network > select Edit to make changes then enter your new credentials.
  •  Note: If your Wi-Fi access is disabled, you will have to select Enable Private Wi-Fi Access.
  • Note: If you have separate Wi-Fi names for your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks and you changed your password, reconnect any Wi-Fi device. The password is always the same for both wi-fi networks.

  • If you have a Verizon Fios Advanced router or Fios Quantum Gateway, login to My Verzion to change or reset Verizon WI-FI name or password.

  • If you don’t have a Verizon Fios Advanced router or Fios Quantum Gateway, you can change or reset the Verizon Wi-Fi name or password in your router manually. To make changes:
    • Open your browser and enter 192.168.1.1
    • Sign in with your Verizon router username and password
    • Router name is admin. You can find the default router password written on your router label
    • If you changed your Verizon router password and don’t remember it, you will need to reset your router to factory default settings
    • Follow the directions onscreen or your router user guide to change your Wi-Fi network name or password

      1. Take note the device model number of your router.

        The most common default username is admin, and its most common password is either admin or password.

      4. Change the default password from the Router Admin Console.
        1. Using your computer or mobile device, open a web browser. You can use Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox.
        2. On the address bar, type the Router IP address you took note on the previous step then press ENTER.
        3. Sign in using the default router IP Address and its password.
        4. Look for the right page to change the password.

          • For VersaLink routers, click the Maintenance menu.
          • For NetGear routers, click the Advanced tab > Setup > Wireless Setup.
