Queen Mattresses For Sale Near You

Are you in the market for a queen mattress? You’ll find an amazing selection of queen size mattresses at Sam’s Club®. Queen mattresses are the most commonly purchased size. Queen mattresses are one of the most important pieces of bedroom furniture you'll buy.  They typically have enough room for two people to sleep comfortably, and their size won’t overwhelm the average bedroom. When you’re shopping for a mattress, one important consideration is the material your mattress is made of. The most common types of mattress materials are memory foam and innerspring. There are also hybrid mattresses, which combine multiple materials. Less common are Adjustable Mattresses, Airbeds & Waterbeds.

Queen Mattress Sets

You may decide to purchase just a queen mattress. Or, you can purchase a queen mattress set. Queen mattress sets come with a mattress and a foundation of some kind. There are a few different types of foundations. Box springs are most common. Certain brands also have special foundations, such as the SmartBase by NightTherapy. Sam’s Club also carries an excellent selection of sets that include adjustable foundations. With adjustable foundations, you can adjust the position of the mattress adjusting the position of your head and legs. The type of mattress set you buy may also influence your choice in bed frames and bedding.

Queen Mattress Dimensions

How big is a queen-size mattress? Queen mattress dimensions are 60 inches wide by 80 inches long. The thickness of the mattress you purchase will vary, depending on its material and the brand. You’ll notice that some mattresses are made of several layers of different materials, which will also affect the thickness of the mattress. Thinner queen mattresses will be about 5 to 8 inches thick, while thicker queen mattresses could be up to 20 inches thick. Typically, mattress thickness will be in the middle of that range, between 10 and 14 inches thick. Queen mattress sizes will only vary in terms of thickness. To check the thickness of the mattresses you are considering, look at the section labeled “Assembled Size.” Keep in mind that thicker mattresses may require special sheets.

Understand the Types of Queen Mattresses

A traditional queen mattress is constructed of steel coils in a variety of configurations. These configurations include different layers of cushions, including eurotop, pillow top (these layers are also known as toppers) and gel memory foam. A hybrid mattress has one or more foam layers on the top of the coils.

Foam is often a better choice because it softens when you lie on the queen bed. Once you move from the bed, it springs back to its original shape. It’s a myth that the more innerspring coals in the mattress provide for a better night’s sleep. The comfort of a mattress, whether it's a firm mattress or a medium mattress or an extra firm mattress, can only be decided by you.

What's a Good Queen Mattress?

To define a good mattress, think about your sleeping style. You want to find a mattress that accommodates your sleeping style along with your mate’s sleeping style. For example, if you don’t like a bouncy feel when you move on your mattress, you want interconnected coils to reduce the ripple effect. If you like a firm mattress, then go for a latex and/or memory foam mattress. They provide less spring. How deep you sink into your mattress depends on the thickness and density of the foam. Extra firm mattresses for example, don't give as much. Foam and latex queen mattresses are often great if you have allergies because they are resistant to mold and dust mites. A plush mattress has a foam or fiberfill outer layer. It’s a plush mattress because the top is covered in a quilted ticking. This gives the top of the mattress an extremely plush feel. Thus, you will have a really soft mattress and box spring.  Pillow top mattresses are also quite soft and comfortable.

You also want to choose a mattress according to the side of the bed you sleep. A queen set made with innerspring may provide pressure relief than foam mattresses. Soft foam mattresses have built-in pressure points around the hips and shoulders so you don’t ache in the morning.

You'll find some of the best queen mattresses made by Beautyrest, Sealy, Serta,  Tempur-pedic and Zinus, and other quality brands at Sam's Club.
