In this video we will be showing you rear power window regulator replacement on this '98 Dodge Durango. The only tools you'll need are Phillips screwdriver, a 10 mm socket and ratchet, and some painter's tape. You start out by removing the rear door panel. I'm fast-forwarding through this. If you want to see this in real motion, we do have another video for it, but you can probably pick up enough from here. It's pulling off a molding and five screws, then lifting the panel up and off, and disconnecting some stuff in the back. Next here, I take the speaker off. You don't actually have to do this. You can pull the water shield off enough to get to the window regulator. If you want to remove the speaker, it's only three screws. With the water shield removed, you can see there are two bolts up here. Those are the top rail of your window regulator. Two bolts down here, the bottom rail. Three nuts for your window motor. Plug my switch back in.

You can see, obviously, my regulator's working fine. To get your windows connected, two bolts hold the window to the regulator. One right there and one right there. Those are 10 mm. Here I have some painter's tape. What I'm going to do is, take the 10 mm bolts off of here. Once I have those bolts removed, I'm going to slide my window right up. Put tape on it, to hold it in place. Now I'm going to remove this bolt here. Remove this bolt, here. Remove this large nut with washer. Now, we can loosen the rest of the bolts. As you can see, after we loosen them, they have holes where they all slide out. So we just need to loosen them up a few turns. Now our window motor has a little lock in it, this little red tab. Use a pair of pliers, pull that out. Then, it comes apart. Feed that back through. As you can see, I lift up on my window motor, push it back through.

Now, I'll lift my regulator down, and right out. So to re-install, slip in the door. You want to make sure that you keep the regulator close this way, so that it comes to the inside of the window, as you put it up in there. I've got this bolt, now, hung up. I'm going to put my harness through this hole here. Move that back. Take that down. Put the bottom one in here now first, and on top. I've got that. Get this up ... in. Our little locking tab ... Put the motor up into place. Start this bolt. This bolt. Now, we can tighten everything up. Now, I'm going to take the tape off. Push against the window to hold it in place. Slide the window down. Might want to push out on the bottom of the window to keep it in place here. Start one bolt. Second bolt, just going to get my fingers up in there. Get it started. Now with the key on, you do some tests. Make sure it goes up and down all right. It appears it does. Now we'll just fast-forward putting the water shield back on. If you need to, you can use some masking tape to hold it in place. I'm going to put the speaker back on. Again, you don't have to take the speaker off to do this. You can just pull the water shield back. Just made it a little easier for videoing, for me. We'll fast-forward through the rest of it. Fast-forward through the door panel. If you want to see re-installing the door panel in real time, just check out our other videos.
