  • Cocktail shaker or a jar with a tight lid

  • 2 teaspoons of brown sugar (light)/ 2 tablespoons of brown sugar syrup.
  • 1 ½ cup of ice

  • Starbucks normally uses blonde espresso for this drink. To replicate the taste, I make my espresso using the Veranda blonde roast blend. This is a great option also if you are using a Moka pot or a French press. If you want something stronger then go for the regular Starbucks signature espresso or dark roast blend. If you have a Nespresso machine then you can easily make your espresso shots using the Starbucks by Nespresso Espresso capsules.
  • Most espresso machine only allows you to pull two shots of espresso at a time, that is why I only included two shots in my recipe to avoid making extra. You can, however, add one more shot if the drink is not strong enough. Starbucks originally uses 3 shots of blonde espresso.
  • I use Oatly Oat milk at home, so that’s the brand I used for this recipe. It also happens to be the same brand Starbucks uses, so if you want to replicate the exact taste, you should go with this brand as well. Otherwise, you can use any brand of oat milk, just make sure it is unsweetened, the brown sugar already adds enough sweetness to the drink.
  • In my recipe, I like to alternate between adding light brown sugar directly or adding the syrup version instead. It's easy to make the brown sugar syrup at home. You can even make it in large batches and store it in your fridge. All you need is brown sugar, water, and vanilla extract. Mix them in a saucepan and bring to a boil, while stirring. Once all the sugar is properly dissolved, take off the heat and let it cool before storing it in the fridge.
