I am disabled and in a wheelchair. Several years ago I fell, couldn't get up and had to call 911. I didn't want the fire department to break down the door and upon advise from a fireman over the phone, he told me to slide on my bottom through the house so I could unlock the front door. It was difficult to reach the front door dead bolt but I finally unlocked the door and a few seconds later the firemen entered. They were fantastic. At a later point in time I started using one of those medical emergency response companies. They offered a lock box for a certain price so I purchased it and hung it on the front door knob. When I could no longer afford this company, I kept the lock box since I already paid for it. Recently I had new locks put on the front and back doors. I could not remember the code or find the paper with the code to remove it from the door knob. I only knew the code to get the key out. I had to throw away that lock box still attached to the door knob. I found this lock box at Amazon.com and it looked similar to the one I had. This one is so much better. Cheaper in price and easier to open to get the key out and take off the door knob. When you enter your code to get the key out, it also opens the part that goes around the door knob. I told my neighbor who was helping me do something that this was so much easier than the old one. This is a great purchase for anyone who needs easy access to something or for elderly & loved ones that may be in danger of falling and needing emergency help. You can just tell the emergency responders the code to get the key out and latter change the code if you want to. No need to have them break down a door or break a window. When I had to go into the hospital for a few days, I gave the code to a neighbor so he could come in a feed my cat. I no longer have to worry about how will someone get in if I have an emergency. The only down side to a lock box is that people keep asking me if I am selling my house. I just tell them it is for emergencies. This lock box is much smaller than the lock boxes realtors put on houses. Will purchase again if needed.

This is my preferred lock box because it has a little section where you can drop the key in and it stays there. It doesn't Let the key interfere with closing the box like most of the other brands do. I'm a realtor I use lock boxes a lot and this is my preferred lock box.

I use this to store my spare keys in case I get locked out. I only have two regular house keys and they fit inside the box perfectly. The box itself is pretty sturdy, but I can't attest to its ability to keep people out of it. The only problem I find with it is the tumblers. The two on the outside move well and freely, but the two on the inside are much more difficult to spin. They seem to only want to spin in one direction, whereas the ones on the outside will spin in both directions, and you really have to use your fingernails to push the inside tumblers because the spacing between them is so close. I think it would really benefit if the tumblers were spaced a bit further apart. Overall, though, it serves its purpose well.

I was looking to save some money as I begin my venture as a Realtorยฎ. I didn't want to buy the cheapest locks out there because my clients might not like that. I found these and from what other realtors had told me, they like these as well. So I bought 5 of them and they really are sturdy and lock well. The spinning combination lock might be a bit difficult in the winter with cold fingers and all. But they're pretty easy to spin overall. You can reset the lock whenever from flipping a little lever on the inside and resetting the combination. Which is good for reusing. Just keep track. Since I have 5, I numbered each one and have a list on my phone notes for the up to date combination code. Be sure to keep track of that. I will be buying more as my business grows.

I keep it outside of the house just in case I lock myself outside or forget my keys in a drunken night out. Not sure how it will weather to the weather, but seems durable.

5.0 out of 5 stars It made it easy for them to enter the house without disturbing me

Ordered it as I had individuals coming to the house to check on me after some surgery. It made it easy for them to enter the house without disturbing me. Less of a hassle as I only had to make I extra key instead of several and did not need to run around to collect those keys.
