We have two breeds of dairy goats on the farm; Sassy and even sassier! We're kidding. pun intended.

We focus on breeding high quality dairy goats for milk production.

The Nigerian dwarf is a smaller breed of goat that produces a ton of milk for its size and their milk is very high in butterfat. That makes it a perfect milk for soap making and many types of cheese. we find this breed to be very playful with just the right amount of attitude.

the 'Lagerian' goats are a mix of the Nigerian Dwarf and La Mancha goats. La Mancha goats are distinct for their lack of ears. they tend to have a more loving and mellow disposition. Often times, the cross of these breeds results in the most adorable 'elf' ears like Stitch and Stella have. they are a great mix of both personality types.

DOES

SG Pholia farm rd nibs 7*M (Nigerian dwarf)

LA 2019: FS91 VEEE

Dam: Pholia Farm DN Whimsy

Sire: SG Sugar Moon Rocky Dolby

Due late April, 2022

Nibs boasts our highest LA score and she is an excellent milker. She is the goat that you’ll never want to milk any others ever again after seeing what an easy milker she is. Great teats, lots of milk, fantastic personality, and the body to boot!

SG Pholia farm hb midge (Nigerian dwarf)

LA 2019: FS85 +VV+

Dam: Pholia Farm UB Poppy

Sire: Elfin Acres ET Huckleberry *B

What a super girl Midge is! We are eager to participate in LA again in 2022 to see how she has developed. She would have earned her milk star by now but did not have a verification test in the past couple of years. Next year is her year!

2 does and 1 buck born february 11th, 2022 - All kids spoken for

Oats And Ivy Q Filbert (Nigerian Dwarf) 2 years old (sorry about the outdated baby photo)

Dam: SG Pholia Farm RD Nutella 6*M

Sire: PHOLIA FARM HB QUIMBY

Another one of my top goats, Filbert is as much a super producer as her dam. Although her teats point slightly outwards, the amount of milk far makes up for it. So very impressed with Filbert!

2 does born february 11th, 2022 - 2 does available (unless i keep one….)

Oats And Ivy Q Hanuta

Dam: SG Pholia Farm RD Nutella 6*M

Sire: PHOLIA FARM HB QUIMBY

This is Hanuta’s first lactation. As I write this, she is only 2 weeks fresh. I haven’t done a full milking but she milks easily, her udder is nice, and she is an excellent mother.

junior does

OATS AND IVY SF BITSY (polled)

Dam: Pholia Farm RD Nibs

Sire: Goat Addiction Salty Flavah

We are very excited to see how this little lady does! Nibs has our highest LA score and is a super milker as well. Hoping for great things from Miss Bitsy-Boo!

Reservations

Congratulations on deciding to add goats to your family! You will love every moment spent with your new ‘kids’. Please read our sales policy thoroughly before filling out the questionnaire. Thank you!

Sales policy: To reserve kids, please fill out the questionnaire below. Once we have received your questionnaire, we will contact you by email or phone within a few days. You will need to submit a $100 non-refundable deposit per kid, which will go toward the cost of the animal. While there is no guarantee that a specific breeding pair will produce the gender requested, choice is on a first come first serve basis. If the dam does not produce the kid desired, you will have next choice of your specified gender on available kids. You will receive your deposit back if the gender specified is not produced from any animals. Note: If you are looking for ADGA registered Nigerian Dwarf kids, then Lagerian kids will not apply to the deposit rule.

We reserve the right to change our minds of selling an animal at any time for any reason. Not all males will be deemed worthy of being herdsires. We will choose only the best, and wether the rest. Potentially available bucklings and prices are specified in the goat profiles above. All wethers(castrated males) and pet quality does will be $200.

Kids remain on the farm for a minimum of 2 months, before they can leave for their new homes. We will raise the kids on their mother’s milk, and slowly transition them to being bottle fed exclusively when you pick them up. We strongly suggest you continue bottle feeding the kids until they are at least 4 months old.

All animals sales are final once the animal leaves the farm. We guarantee all animals are healthy when they leave our farm. We will do a health check with you the day you pick up your goats. You are solely responsible for their care after they leave. For disbudded goats, we will do our very best, but occasionally, a scur will emerge, especially on intact males. If you wish for your goats to keep their horns, you will need to pay the full amount non-refundable within 3 days of birth.

If you have not raised goats before and would like to learn more before bringing your new additions home, we offer workshops on the farm. We have a partial day workshop geared towards raising goats for pets, as well as an extensive multi-day workshop geared towards those looking to breed and milk their goats. You can find more information under the workshops tab. If you simply want to have a great resource on hand to reference (We reference ours countless times throughout the year to brush up on things and to troubleshoot if there is an issue), then I cannot recommend Holistic Goat Care by Gianaclis Caldwell enough. She was our mentor when we started raising goats and an absolute expert on the subject.

How to get started with mini Lamacha goats?

When you get started raising Mini LaMacha goats, you can either buy a small herd of minis or breed your own by investing in a Nigerian Dwarf buck and a LaMancha doe. One of the benefits of having Mini LaManchas on your homestead, rather than the full-sized version, is that the mini breed is much hardier, thanks to the Dwarf Nigerian contribution.

Should I get Mini Lamanchas for my homestead?

One of the benefits of having Mini LaManchas on your homestead, rather than the full-sized version, is that the mini breed is much hardier, thanks to the Dwarf Nigerian contribution. While you will need to provide shelter at night and in bad weather, you can otherwise let your goats roam free.

What do miniature Lamancha goats eat?

Like the full-size LaMancha Goat, the minis will happily feast on all kinds of weeds, shrubs, herbs, and trees. A little supplementary feed in the form of alfalfa or goat pellets will help them maintain their condition during the breeding season and optimize their milk production.

How much does a purebred Lamancha cost?

How big is a mini LaMancha goat?

The Mini LaMancha is a miniature breed of dairy goat, with average weights for fully mature, lactating does falling between 90 and 120 pounds. Mini LaManchas tend to exhibit long, level lactations with strong persistence, a good letdown response, good teat size and udder capacity, and a strong will to milk.

Are LaMancha goats noisy?

TEMPERAMENT: Calm, quiet, people-friendly, and easy to handle and milk. ADAPTABILITY: LaManchas adapt well to different environments and climates, making them ideal for 4-H and dairy projects around the country.

What is a mini Mancha?

Mini-Lamancha dairy goats are a down sized cross that originates in a cross between a standard Lamancha dairy goat and a Nigerian Dwarf dairy goat.
